What do you do for a living?

I finally got my head out, and got a big-boy job. So, it got me thinking, what do my fellow MVPmods users do when they're not wasting their lives on the web?

I recently started at a major investment firm - I am a Financial Advisor in training. And boy-oh-boy - it's quite a bit of work. 54 hours this past week. And this is just the studying-for-the-Series-7 stage. I can't even imagine what it's going to be like when the "real" work begins. Oh well... at least I'm finally trying to do something with my life.

For those that WANT to talk about it... what do YOU do for a living, right now?

I guess I'll go first. Right now, I do Customer Service for a private Limo company, extravagant huh?

I'm back in school now part time going for my BA and just got into the web developing field, privately, and I also do some PC repair on the side.

hahaha. Kraw. We all know you're a millwright (LINK). Now, I don't know what that means, really... but I know you're a professional of some degree.

The only people I know that would legitamately claim to be professional "sellers of dime bags" are my former co-workers at my old job. :)

Welding - yowsa. One of my former co-workers was heavily into welding - we always compared that information to being in high school and first getting your driver's liscence... if the info gets out, people you never knew suddenly want to be your best friend (cuz they want a ride, or in this case, want something metallic put back together).

17 and no job? You better get your butt off this site and go to Careerbuilder.

No seriously, at that age you could basically get any job you want. Like bestbuy, walmart, etc...

Currently work for City Government developing web applications and doing some website development and consultation on the side, among other things.

That work can be grueling and the hours can be hard but it can be worthwhile, especially if you love the work. Just make sure you don't burn yourself out which can get hard not to do when there's competition. As long as you keep your sanity, you'll be okay. And when you're rolling in the money Ka-Ching, remember all your friends at this site ... a couple of dead presidents shall suffice.

Good luck with the job.

no real title, i guess you can say manager. I work at a roofing/ siding/ remodeling supply place, I am learning about windows and doors to become the "specialist", I also deal alot with the finances, and even sometimes have to get my *** in the pickup truck and deliver heavy roofing shingles, but most of the time I am on this computer dealing with the accounting software (peachtree) entering orders and other tasks. I just started here last month and they already want to give me a hefty raise.

I'm @ work right now.

I'm 18, and I'm a radiologic technologist assistant.

Pros:

1. Good pay

2. Sit at a PC, and rarely do anything

3. 20 hour weeks for a full-time student

4. Weeknights are like 3 hours long, and I have plenty of time to play Madden ;)

Cons:

1. Getting up at 6 AM on Saturday mornings (ugh).

Talk about cush!

Phone-based I.T. technical support (with my own special brand of customer service built in ;) ) during the day and some personal I.T. repairs and consultancy work in my free time.

(To anyone considering entering this field of work, either now or in future, do not let family and friends know about your job unless you absolutely have to - the main reason being that as soon as they know, you will become their personal, free-of-charge, I.T. repairman. When they want a PC fixed up, or have finally had enough of their virus-plagued system, you'll get that phone call.)

Well, I don't have a job right now aside from an internship which actually doesn't pay, but I plan to study music composition in college... I guess a change from what everyone else is mentioning. Two jobs I could never do: something to do with money and anything medical or having to do with teeth.
