sfochs
This is what I hear, timing is everthing. But even after playing hundreds of games, I still suck at hitting homeruns. Is there any advice some one can give me. how should I be more patient at the plate. What pitches to look for, what location, anything. SESbb30
look for fat fastballs and fat breaking pitches, i dont really try to hit homers, they just seem to happen, i only try when the circle thing is red. and you have to take into account if you try to inside out a ball, or if the hitter is a pull or push or whatever. seanzarelli
This is my hitting technique. I average at least 1 HR a game, maybe 2. I always take the first two pitches whether they are balls or strikes. I do this to see what kind of velocity the pitcher is throwing at and try to see how he's going to work me. Depending on the count determines my approach on the third pitch. If it's a 2-0 count, I take unless it's a mistake pitch or I see it's a nice fat one down the middle of the plate and then I try to crush it by holding up and in on the analog stick. If it's a 1-1 count, 50% take, 50% swing. On the swing, I will hold up and in on the analog stick if he has thrown both pitches outside. If he has thrown one inside, one outside, then I just do whatever. If he has thrown both inside, I will try and push the ball the opposite way. If it's a 0-2 count, I do whatever I can to stay alive. By doing this, it gets you used to the pitcher and his routines and gives you a greater opportunity at succeeding at the plate. Also, try playing with the Hitter's Eye on to try and get your timing on breaking balls. Also, try changing your batting view. The batting view is one factor that drastically helped me become a better hitter because some of them, you can see the trajectory of the ball more and it gives you more time to react.
