Man, I'm baffled by all this. I'm a mid-forties guy that just wants to play a good baseball game. This was the best before I was sent to The Sandbox and after two tours, as best I can tell, it's still the best.

I'll tell ya what .. serious here ..

I want to play MVP 2005, best looking graphics, as up to date rosters as possible, maybe a cool overlay, little added audio ..

You know, YOUR general opinion of how to make MVP 2005 the best it can possibly play.

Now, I know this is going to take time because what I do for a living and what you do for a living is, no doubt, mammoth in difference. So, you're gonna have to talk to me like a little child and listen to me whine and "IT WON'T WORK" and all of that.

So, I'll tell ya what, you line it up "Download this, download that ..do this, do that" .. all of this YOUR opinion of how to get the game to play the best you think it can play.

You get me set up, I'll pay ya $25 PayPal for your time. I'm not whining and asking for a free ride.

I'm stupid, I need help, I'm baffled by this whole thing and I don't wanna beg people for something they have been haggled about a thousand times, no doubt.

I follow the site pretty closely. I read it since I've been back in country and I know who The Big Boys with knowledge are around here. Just gimme somebody who knows what they are talkin' about. That's all. I have a general idea after reading here for hours for weeks now on who's who.

If you're up for it, post here or send an e-mail to my private account at ootp3league@hotmail.com

No malicious intent is meant by this post. I'm a guy looking for help in a land he doesn't understand.

Much Obliged.

Go to EAMods.com, download and install the MVP '07 Mod. Until the '08 mod comes out, this is your best bet.

The '07 mod has everything that you would want, and has pretty good instructions on how to install it.

I'll help you anyway I can, and don't want any cash in return. If you are looking to pay someone, just split the cash, and donate it to both sites.

Thank you, DJ.

.. and here is where we start with me being completely overwhelmed ..

There's like 14 files there. Models.big. kg's rosters (which, if it was like before, are always the best) .. there's fixes and .. this and that .. and some other thing.

Then I'm wondering "Am I getting the most out of the game? Is there something else I can do here to make this a better game that I'm overlooking?" But more than likely "What am I doing WRONG? Why is this not working?"

.. that's why the bounty.

I hate, I truly HATE, bothering people.

And I'm so overwhelmed by all the files and capabilities and possibilities, I'm just looking for a road map of somebody's opinion of how to get to MVP 2005 Nirvana.

You guys are in to this .. you know what you are talking about.

I wish there was something that I knew about that I could help you. Otherwise, I just feel like a blithering ahol whining on a forum.

You guys are the experts.

That's why I ask.

I looked that page over, DJ, and said "OH GREAT GOD. What the .. does this all MEAN? What does it do? Why do I need it? Is there a God and does He love me? Has the dog been fed?"

You know, stuff like that.

the one you are looking for at eamods.com is the MVP07:MLB Reboot version.

That will give you updated rosters, uniforms, stadiums, faces, etc....

First you will want to download Total Installer Thingy RC 13

it is here: http://www.eamods.com/Downloads/details/id=268.html

install that.

then you will want to download MVP07 MLB Reboot version

it is here: http://www.eamods.com/Downloads/details/id=312.html

after that you will want to download Kgbaseball's 2008 Roster v4.5 Standard.

it is here: http://www.eamods.com/Downloads/details/id=134.html

after that you will want to download Spungo's uni updates.

those are here:http://thespungo.eamods.com/downloads/

downlaod Spungos MLB Update Beta and then download updates 1 through 4.

install each of these with the Total Installer Thingy.

To do this you simply run the Total Installer Thingy (aka TiT) and then choose the file you want to install. You do not need to unzip or unrar any of the above files. Simply browse for them in TiT and it will do the rest for you.

Doing all of the above will give you the most up to date, complete game. You will have current rosters as of 2/5/2008, current uniforms, and current stadiums and the like.

There will be an MVP 2008 version coming out soon (hopefully) and once it is released you will want to download it and install it as well. But until then, this is about as much as you can do.

Can't get much better instructions then these.

By "Sandbox", I am assuming you mean Iraq, which if that's the case, Welcome Home!

You know Mav3rek's advice is just perfect for him and I am sure he'll be pretty satisfied with it once he's all done. But you know, by the time Mvp 08 is released, that advice will be outdated. That's how fast things change around here.

Big_Iron, if I also can help in any way, I will. And if you think my help is good enough for that 25 dollar Paypal gift you are offering, then you just keep that money of yours in your pocket for your own use because I won't take it. It's always nice helping new people and also ones who were servicemen. I was myself, but nothing like you. Compared to you I had cake duty.

That being said, the first thing you grab is the Total Installer Thingy just like Mav3rek said. That's a little tool that Mr. Krawitham wrote to help install stuff.

Now, most of Mav's advice was for getting and setting up the Mvp 07 mod. That's all well and good. The thing is, very soon the 08 mod will be out and the 07 reboot version that he was talking about won't be downloaded as much anymore. Now, whether you want to wait for the new version or not is certainly up to you.

After you have this installed, then you can really go to town. What's your favorite team? You can download CTS (Click-to-start) screens with players from your favorite team. You can download custom overlays (the bar that says the ball, strikes and out and score) that feature networks like YES, SNY, FOX and ESPN, among many others. New stadiums. New uniforms. Old time throwback uniforms.

Do you like playing classic baseball? If you do, there's a mod out there called Total Classics 8 Gold that feature great teams throughout history. Play with or against the '27 Yankees, the '75 Reds, the '18 Red Sox, etc. There are also individual season mods for 1956, 1961, 1964, 1967, 1978 and 1994. 1969 and 1988 are being made. So if you like classic baseball you came to the right place.

Take your time, look around and don't be afraid to ask questions.

If you are a fan of old-time baseball, then TC Gold is a MUST HAVE! An amazing mod! Y4L's right though, '08 will be here soon, and should blow the '07 mod out of the water!

No, seriously .. what you guys have done here is monumental and should be noted in gaming history.

I'm not exaggerating.

This is historic stuff you are pulling off. I've downloaded nothing but what you told me and I am telling you I am astonished.

Screw the X-Box 360. There is no better PLAYING (and that's the real part where you guys REALLY excelled) and better looking baseball game. Not on HDTV on a console. Not anywhere.

I am .. I am truly beyond words.

I'm not downloading nothing more (unless somebody has some suggestions). I ain't buying no more doggone baseball games.

You've made one pretty close to as perfect as a VIDEOGAME can be.

I am telling you I have been playing games since Atari.

You have created the greatest baseball game of all time. Hands down, nothing is even close. Nothing is in the same league.

This is historic what you have done here. Videogames make more money than all the movies released every year put together.

You've made Citizen Kane, gentleman.

I'm dead-on serious.

Talking about historic stuff don't forget to try the Total Classic mods, the 1994 mod and the Caribe mod to return to the past or to know more stuff about past years.

Some guys are making the 1999 mod too so try'em all and most importanty: have fun!

well. BI, im usualy kinda of the first person to jump to give some help, but some good ppl gave you gr8 advice, im glad that you are enjoying the game's believe me when i tell you, i was the same as you, with excitement!

this is the first community, i have been two, that overaul, really helps people when they need it, the guys here who make these mods, is truly unbelievable, and i still stand by, my word, that once my settlement comes through, lets just say, i wont forget!

as far as mods on this site goes, man to be honest, theres so many, that you litterally wont have the time to try and enjoy them all, from classic team mods, to current, with all the things that can be done within this game, i took my 360 back, at the time im like man, ima miss my system, for money reasons, but since, then i swear i havent even looked back man, this game alone, on pc, with a 360 controller, is all thats needed! you can keep the $400 + and have soem fun with thsi gem.

ill try to look out more on the fourum, and if you need some help, like y4l said just ask, theres plenty of ppl here to help ya!, tc, and to all the modders, of course, ty so much, it is appreciated!

I don't know if you play dynasty or owner mode (Owner mode is limited to 20 years, IIRC), but if you play owner, I made a mod to increase the size of the batter's eye in the create-a-stadium. Available here

I don't know how much it has been used, but I just throught I'd throw that out there.

The other thing that I haven't seen mentioned yet is MVP Sav Reader. This will output your dyanasty/owner mode into a webpage format that looks pretty much exactly like ESPN. I love it for looking over things in my dynasty.
