Possible drivers for my controller?

I purchased MVP 2005 over Spring Break and have installed the TiT and updated rosters with it. When I start the game it tells me that the game doesnt support my gamepad (it is older). It has a d-pad, 4 buttons (xbox equivalent layout) and a L and R trigger. I can't remember the exact name of the controller but it is a microsoft brand. Anyone happen to know if there are any drivers out there that could make an unsupported gamepad compatible?
