RaptorQuiz's instructions vs. Total Installer Thingy

I have done this before, but it has been a while since i modded my 05 into 07, and i have gotten a new computer since. I am currently installing MVP 05 and would like to get things up to date and into shape in time for the season(which technically has already started). I want to know what the difference between following the instructions here:

http://mvpmods.com/Forums/viewtopic/t=27808.html

and using the total installer thingy is. I am having trouble understanding what the total installer thingy does, and really I just want to know the simplest and easiest way to get my mvp 05 updated to 07 with 08 rosters in the near future. any help is greatly appreciated. thank you.

People do make that mistake

I was PM'ing someone for a couple days trying to figure out why he thought he was downloading a mod when using TiT. It turned out he meant installing not downloading. But it had me scratching my head for nearly 2 days about what the hell was going on

You should download the "07 reboot edition" from EAmods.com. That one will install itself, and it will make all the updates (that used to be separate) you should need.

Bottom line: If you get the "07 Reboot Edition," you no longer need my instructions.

:lmao:

That mistake (downloading = installing) is ALMOST as irritating as when people mix up "memory" and "hard drive space." Ugh. That one kills me.

To add on to what he said, I usually create a blank folder and copy the latest version of TiT (in this case RC14). Download the reboot version as RaptorQuiz suggested and install it to the same folder that contains the TiT. You do not need the stock game to be installed on your computer. You merely need to have the CDs.

Also, you would need to modify your firewall to allow access to the MVP application.

It installs!

There is description of every file that it can install in its download page. It is by far the easiest and fastest way to install almost anything related to MVP Baseball.

You can download both of them to add on to the reboot version. The 08 schedule can be downloaded from www.eamods.com and just pick which ever roster you prefer - KG's, Totte's, or SS's and install that file. In case you don't know this, each roster has to correspond to a set models.big. I usually just run the plus maker to make sure that my rosters and models.big are in sync. But if you are wanting to use the standard version of the roster, then you would need to copy the default models.big file from the CD.

so, to recap:

im downloading 07-REboot.TiT, which i will install using TiT RC14. i will download KG's rosters and the 08 schedule, and by "installing that file" I assume you mean copying and replacing whatever files come with those installations into the default folder. does TiT do this for me or is it done manually? lastly, what is this issue with models.big, and if i download KG's roster, how do i ensure that it will correspond to the models.big set i have.

thanks again!
