mcer1
I am having portrait problems with my created players. The portraits I created work if I give a created player an exisiting photo ID and change the photo. Unfortunately, it seems I cannot give them an unassigned photo ID and get it to work. Can I create custom photo ID's to use for my roster or am I forced to overwrite existing photos only? Thanks for any help.
Homer
explain your process of everything, from what mods you're using, how you're creating and installing the portraits, what the problem that is occuring. because to answer your question, yes you should be able to do this without a problem. Jim825
After you assign the new photo ID, are you exporting your rosters (so that the change is actually saved)? If you are not doing this, then when you use the roster, it reverts to the old photo ID. That's why it would work if you simply replaced the an existing photo, since the roster wouldn't actually change.
mcer1
I am creating the image and alpha with PS. I am using MVPedit. I go to a created player and change his audio/photo to 1111(unused). I upload the bmp and alpha, says searching for photo, then picture not found. I take the same player and change his audio/photo to 3(Sosa). Upload the same way and the portrait appears. I export to game and it works there perfectly too. Not sure what to do other than overwrite existing portraits.
xiberger
Like I told you in the other thread, MVPedit isn't the only option to import portraits into the game. Take a portrait file, rename it to 1111.fsh, make sure 1111 is set in the attachment "name", edit the image, save the file, compress it and import it into portrait.big. mcer1
I am very new to portraits, so MVPedit seems like the easiest way to it. A portrait file consists of a 24 bit and an alpha. When you say take a potrait file, I am confused. I know how to edit and save a bitmap, but not sure if I need both files this way and not sure how to compress and import into portrait.big. Sorry to be such a pain, just trying to figure this out.
xiberger
You're right, MVPedit is the easiest way to import portraits. However, since that's not working for, you need to find other ways. I've modified a couple of portrait files (=fsh files in /data/frontend/portrait.big), but my way is quite complicated and difficult to explain. That's why I suggest you give krawhitham's Portrait Maker a try. I haven't used it myself, but I think it's just what you're looking for.
mcer1
I tried Kraw's Portrait maker and it does make a fsh file. What do I do with that once I have the fsh files in order to compress and import into portrait.big?
Homer
zip it up and install it with Tit.
