Valmir
Hi I'm a fan of MLS and DC United, and there is a way to import your own stadiums into a soccer game called "Pro Evolution Soccer" As MVP 2005 contains RFK Stadium in .o format with .fsh textures, I tried to import it, however upon getting to the .3ds stage there are too many textures that are not assigned. I was just wondering if anybody knows how to get the stadiums into 3d modelling format without losing the textures, or if the creator of RFK still has it in a format I can open with Rhino 3D. Thanks :)
Sean O
Good question. I've never dealt with the 3dm format before, is it similar to 3ds? We can put the physical stadium into 3ds max, however the texturing will most likely be lost. Considering how rfk is shaped, you may be better off just modeling the park in Vectorworks or 3ds max. Hmm, pro evolution soccer stadiums, maybe that will be my next modding frontier.
Valmir
Right, well I took the "Pirate mod" of RFK you have for download on this site, and converted the .orl/.ord to .o, then used OIFTool to make it .oif, which I put into zmodeler to create a .3ds. I mentioned .3dm because .3ds doesn't have the textures assigned, and that was what I was mainly looking for. You can export the textures from the .fsh, but theres about 200 of them which you would have to manually assign. This is simpler with Fifa and PES stadiums, because all the small individual textures are joined onto five 512x512 textures with UV Mapping. Do you not know of a way to keep the textures assigned when exporting a stadium to 3d modelling software? (If you want to know more about PES Stadium editing, its mostly happening on this forum: http://forums.evo-web.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=217 We've been able to put stadiums into PES5, PES6 and PES2008, so practically every notable soccer stadium in the world has been made)
Sean O
As long as stadio san nicola is there, you've done a good job. I would say that you mostly need to texture the seating sections and any concrete, but it would be a task. I don't know how advanced pes modeling is at this point, but not having individual rows is a problem. Best of luck, but unfortunately unless you can get the textured model out of zMod, I don't think you'll be in luck. Check out rolie's zMod tutorial, it may help. Valmir
The textures are in the .fsh files, but there's 200 of them so it would require manually assigning each one. Yes it could be done, but would take a very long time... As for San Nicola, this is what I found There's some brilliant PES Stadiums with 3d seats, electronic scoreboards etc. very exciting Thanks for your thoughts :)
