fishfan77
I just spent over an hour installing MVP07. Applied the patch and was ready to go. When i try to start the game, i get an error that it needs the game cd . I have both discs as .bin files and have disc 2 mounted using Daemon tools. This stinks, when i read the requirements before installing, it said game cds OR .BIN images were required. Now i think i just spent an hour for nothing and am going to have to re-install mvp2005 and go with that
MarkB
Take a hint - when it asks you to insert the game CDs, try it. Even just for troubleshooting purposes. :)
fishfan77
problem is, my second cd is toast. It is no longer readable at all, and I have tried all the home-brewed remedies to fix the disc.

DJEagles
You joined the site over two years ago, and you are just trying the '07 Mod now?
fishfan77
yeah... I joined and got bored with mvp2005 and didnt give it another thought
fishfan77
Should I have uninstalled MVP05 first? (and deleted any folders left behind?)
Maestro23
You don't need '05 installed. All the '07 mod requires during installation is the files off CD#1 & CD#2.
fishfan77
ok, i will try removing and trying again. I was running the "no cd" version of mvp 2005 (because my disc 2 is toast). Maybe that had something to do with it?
BigRog
we don't talk about illegal methods here. sorry dude.
fishfan77
no prob, sorry. I guess my question is, before i spend the time installing again, do i need disc 2 of the orignal MVP2005 disc to play 07? It is prompting me to insert the CD (At the 07 start up screen). If this is the case, I am out of luck
fishfan77
Ok, wasted another hour. Totally uninstalled 05 and reinstalled 07 and the patch. I still get the message to insert game cd. Apparently, just having the image files (as the requiremensts said would be ok) is not enough. You need the 05 cd in the drive to play 07? Guess I am S O L. No way I am spending $50 on a 4 year old game. I would pay that for 07 tho :-)
jhoff80
The reason that you're having issues is because when you copied your discs, you made a bin file. Bin files don't have the security sectors copied. What you needed to have done is make a clonecd (.ccd) image of it. Not that that really helps now, but in case anyone else has the same issue. BigRog
the problem is he doesn't have disk 2. Only solution, get disk 2.

I'm sorry you can't get your game to install, but that's something no one can fix. And the only way you can get this game and get support in here is purchasing another copy, which you said yourself you don't want to. Any other method you get this game will result in you getting no support on here. I'm sorry. It's your choice now.
DJEagles
Check your PMs FishFan. The solution I gave you should fix it. It did for me.
fishfan77
I was finally able to get disc #2 to be read, enough to get 07 properly installed and to have it recognized when I start up 07. I forgot I had an electric disc cleaner/repairer. A lot of repair solution and a few attempts running it thru the repair cycle did the trick.
