too much homeruns

I ve found myself hitting and giving up too many homeruns in the game. Most of the run that was scored in the game were by homeruns. I lowered the power slider all the way down to -50 but I still hit a lot of homeruns while CPU cant even hit doubles anymore and barely score any runs. Therefore I would like to know is there any way to can edit in the datafile or slider to decrease the number of homeruns while CPU can still hit with some power and score some runs without homerun so it will br more realistic.

That is sort of what i am asking here. I am using the datafile come with mvp07 and I set CPU power all the way down to -50 but as I said in the first post that once I did that, the CPU stop hitting any sort of XBH at all and scored avreage of about 1.5 runs a game. I m thinking if there is something I can edit in the datafile where I can reduce the number of homeruns from happening while they still hit their 2B's and 3B's

The datafile.txt for the 07 mod is inside the datafile.big You will need to extract it from the datafile.big with a program called BigGUI. Once you extract it, make your changes, etc... (using a text editor), you will need to compress it back and import the datafile.txt back into the datafile.big

Following 2 downloads will help you with your way around editing a datafile.txt:

R Rodkey Datafile Tutorial: http://www.mvpmods.com/Downloads/details/id=161.html

Snepp's Datafile Layout.txt: http://www.mvpmods.com/Downloads/details/id=149.html

*Will need a program called eazip as well. Keyword search the boards for a download link and discussion threads on editing a datafile (there are many out there).

FAQ Thread contains link to BigGui: http://www.mvpmods.com/Forums/viewtopic/t=...FAQ+Thread.html

*Remember that Fielder speed comes into play as well when determining if a fielder gets to a ball or not. Might want to play with those slider settings as well.

Good luck. Hope you get the results you are looking for.
