You're going to have to be more specific than that. No body knows what you're asking. You can't move the ball. By the laws of physics, the ball will go where it is thrown, hit, etc. Perhaps that answers your question?

The only thing I can think of is maybe he means how do you pick your spots after the pitcher releases the ball? You know, maybe he doesn't have any idea how to throw the ball up and in or low and away or to move around the ball in any way. This is just a wild guess here.

If you have a joystick, you should be able to move the ball with the joystick.

Just practice with it.

I should ask though, what controller do you use?

I don't have a controller. Could you do it with the keyboard or a mouse?

keyboard does it, using the controls on the number-pad (10-key area).

For more exact instructions, you can actually go to the controller-configuration screen inside the game and SEE what keys do what (and change them there, if you so choose, as well).

The pitch type is chosen by using the up/down left/right keys. Also I'm on a laptop.

Yup, I'm on a laptop too. what you have to do is hit num lk (number lock) on your keyboard. Then, look on your keys and some keys have little numbers on the very bottom of them. With number lock on, if you hit the key with the little 2, the ball goes down, little 6 is to the right, little 8 is up, and little 4 is left. Combining them makes you throw up and in, say a little 6 and 8. Tell me if you have problems finding these keys. Hope it works!

Now I am the one with a question. I just started playing and pitching is downright impossible. I read the manual, and they say that to locate a pitch it is 2/4/6/8 with a keyboard/mouse set up. However, neither those buttons, nor anything else will let me locate. It is very annoying, because 2/4/6/8 seem to work for hitting, but I simply can't make the pitch cursor move anywhere and the configuration screen doesn't even offer a config for what would be the left stick. I am really getting discouraged and would love some help

Its 2,4,6,8 on your Number pad, not the 2,4,6,8 that are lined up in a row right above your keys. If its a laptop that you're using, read the beginning of the thread, and you're answer is right there.
