How much money do you spend on gas a week?

Recommended Posts

With gas prices nearing $4.00/gallon in the U.S., I was just wondering how this will effect everyone's lives. I spend about $20 a week on gas and really don't travel that far from my home when I leave it. How much do the rest of you spend on it a week? How big of an impact is it having on your lives and your ability to afford other things, like paying the electric bill.

I no longer have to drive as much as I did (new job)... but with the old job I was spending about $55/tank, and probably had to fill every other week, so that would be $27.50/week.

That's with $3.20 as the price of gas, though. If it was $4, those numbers would be $64/tank, and $32/week.

When I worked downtown, I had to fill up twice a week. If gas had been $4/gal then, I would've be spending $128/week on gas. That's freakin' $512/month.

$60 a week with gas sitting in around $3.40. It hasn't forced me to change my driving habits. With the move to Indiana this summer though, I think I will be driving more. We also are buying a home and heating it won't be fun.

Fill the tank twice a week. Minimun 100 dollars (Canadian, but the dollar value is practically even) per week. Gas in Canada is much, much more expensive than it is in the states.

Probably about 40 bucks to fuel up once every 10-14 days. Of course, the real problem these days is the higher cost of food. Items such as corn are seeing huge price jumps because it's being turned into biofuels. That's all well and good, except for the people in impoverished nations such as Haiti can't afford to eat any longer.

Of course, we have these problems because we're slaves to OPEC, and we have that problem because environmentalists won't let us get our own oil in the part of Alaska that was set aside for oil exploration.

Hey, you are complaining about your gas prices?

in Germany (and Europe in general) gas prices are at about 1.40€/litre (5.30€/gallon). Disregard the rate of change (€/$). The prices are in relation to the income. Many people ignore that fact, but that's a big mistake.

5.30€ a gallon "hurt" Europeans like 5.30$ a gallon would "hurt" you U.S. citizens.

I think I refill my car once or twice in two weeks, depends on how much I'm driving. And a complete refill costs about 85€, which you can see as 85$.

Do you still think, that your gas prices are high? ;)
