DJAelbi
I've tried everything that I know how to do.... mvpedit just won't let me accomplish things I want to. I move players around, got the portrait and cyberface things going and yet still weird things happen. Anyone ever use importer exporter and find that when you go to the rosters all of a sudden players have been turned into Default Default instead. I thought it might have something to do with the All Star teams, but now I'm not sure. Of Course, when I tried to export the DAT files to the MVP05 database to make the roster the default roster it just makes the game completely inoperable. Crashes before it finishes loading the game. Does anyone else have these same problems? Modders, does this kind of stuff happen to you? So, basically I've started with the most recent roster by kgbaseball twice and both times tried to add players and their portraits and cyberfaces and all these things happen. I get the portraits and cyberfaces to come up and everything looks good until I export. Is there a better editor out there? What do you modders use? Thanks to all who reply. Jim825
MVPEdit is THE editor when it comes to editing rosters. If the game crashes before it finishes loading that typically means that one of the following has occurred to one of the teams you are trying to play with: 1. A player is assigned a cyberface that does not exist in your models.big file 2. Your batting order is incomplete (i.e. not all the spots are filled) 3. Your starting rotation is incomplete
DJAelbi
That brings me to another issue... I check to see if there are errors. It usually says no errors, but does have warnings. When I fix all those I've had issues with a minor league team needing a linup fix. When I check it out there is nothng to fix. I mess with it anyway. Can more than one player use the same cybefaces? This still does not explain the auto replacing of players with Default Default players, however. THanks for the response. They seem scarce at times. Jim825
Yes, multiple players can use the same cyberface. As far as the players with the name Default Default, are you creating new players? If so, what do you do with the players they replace? Are you moving them to the Free Agent list or simply deleting them? I know that there is a specific limit to the number of players on the Free Agent list. Perhaps that is what is causing your problem.
DJAelbi
Actually, I'm importing the players from 94 roster to 08. Mixing it up. The Default Default players are replacing players that I have not messed with. I thought about the free agent thing, but it says only 40 something of 200 and something spaces are used. I feel that Something in the process is corrupt. Although I downloaded another version of mvpedit and the same things occur. It only occurs in the game. The players that should be there appear normal in mvpedit. Very complex I'm feeling.
DeuceBlades
Ive had that problem where I created players with mvpedit, and had over 250 players in FA, and it crashed everytime. I think if you are over 245 or something to that effect, it will crash. I keep it around 200 for the FA players, and delete old players that dont play anymore, ie..Clemens and Bonds, use the slots for their faces for two other worthy players that havnt cheated :D
DJAelbi
Well, that's a good idea, but as far as mvpedit is concerned I only have about 40 free agents. I'm really curious if anyone has had the game/mvpedit create Default Default players to replace players that were already there. It does it to players I've never touched before. That's the weirdest thing. But like I said, eveything looks fine in mvpedit and it's not until I check the rosters in the game. Thanks again
