matrocks12
Hi all! I know this question probably may have been asked, but I am new and not that familiar with the site. With that in mind, using MVP 2005, with no mods aside from overlays, rosters, models.big, yadda yadda, but no mods affecting the actual gameplay, it seems that it is extremely hard to homer. However, when I hit up ( on the number pad, i homer far too often. How do I fix this. I've tried boosting the power all the way up, but it is still a rarity for balls to reach the warning track, and there are way too many hard line drives that roll fast to the wall, resulting in singles. Any way to fix this. It'd really make me pick up the game and start playing again! Thanks!!!
Jim825
First you say that it's hard to hit homeruns. Then you say that if you hit up ( on the number pad, you hit homeruns too often. What exactly is the problem that you want fixed? Do you want to hit more homeruns or less? Are you saying that you want to hit homeruns without having to press up on the number pad? I play with a gamepad and 99% of the homeruns I hit occur when I have the left analog stick pointed up (up left, up right, or straight up). Every now and then (but very rarely), I do hit a homerun without pointing the left stick up, and whenever I do, it catches me completely by surprise. I think you will find that most people will give you the same answer. Most of their homeruns are hit with the left stick pointed up (or the up key pressed on the keypad). matrocks12
without hitting 8 on the number-pad, it is very hard to homer, almost impossible. However, when i DO hit 8 it is way too easy. If i just boost down the user power will it be more realistic? If so, about what number should I lower my power to? Thanks!
matrocks12
It's not that I want more or less homers, I just want the game to be as realistic as possible, so I think I should just lower my power in gameplay tuning. Do you have a good number for that to be? Appreciate it!
Jim825
It's not always just about power. What level do you play on -- Rookie, Pro, All Star, MVP? What are some of your other sliders set to -- contact, pitch speed, etc.?

wcrickards
I play on MVP mode. Power tuned down a bit on sliders, although I hit waaay too many home runs -- as in, I had eight hits last game and six of them were home runs. Seriously -- pitchers need to learn not to throw a 4-seamer high and tight and in the strike zone, cuz I'll hit them out every time. Seriously -- is there a way to turn these HR's into liners? Any help is appreciated!!!!
