pdawg17
I just gave up on MLB 2k8 and want to come back to MVP 2005 but have a problem...I tried installing patch 3 and 5 and both make everything move at "fast forward" speeds...I've read numerous posts here about this and they say: 1) Turn v-sync on in-game and in Windows 2) Set affinity to one core (if you have a dual core cpu, which I do) Neither suggestion works for me...if I have no patch installed, the speed is normal but there is extreme stutter...any other patches to try or ideas? Here are my specs: C2D E6400 @ 3.4ghz 4gb memory Nvidia 7900GS 256mb Vista Ultimate
catzrthecoolest
the problem might be vista... because your specs are just fine... but i don't know whether or not it's fully compatible with vista

Here are my specs: C2D E6400 @ 3.4ghz 4gb memory Nvidia 7900GS 256mb Vista Ultimate Do you use either a Crack, Disc Image, or Badly scratched disk? My disk was horribly scratched and I stuttered. Now I'm using my friend's copy that is totally scratch-free and it doesn't stutter. I had the same problem and someone told me to use a mini-image, but I'm not sure about the legality of that. So I just asked my friend if I could have his copy... he doesn't play it anymore. But, I've also read that cracking the EXE can cause problems, as well as mounting a disc image in a virtual drive. pdawg17
No...I am not using any kind of crack and my disc is actually still in great shape...due to the lack of response here I think I'm screwed :(
wrigleyville33
Have you downloaded service pack 1 for vista yet? It might fix your problem.
BigPaPa
The problem is not vista and its not your Specs per say its a video issue. There are many threads on how to fix the Hyper speed issue and Choppiness. Look at em if none of em work for you then no one here can help you. PLay around with video settings, even try reinstalling or installing the 07 mod. Just on a side note don't DL SP1 if you can avoid it. It slows your computer by as much at 15%. Thanks...as my original post shows, I have searched and found these fixes for hyperspeed: 1) Use only one core (if you have dual core) 2) Turn on vsync in windows AND in-game I've tried to search and since they didn't work I thought I'd check with people here since unfortunately not all searches result in complete success... The only reason I have choppiness is from NOT installing a patch, which I'd rather not do...choppiness is not a problem at all with patch 3 or 5...those patches create the hyperspeed...well thanks anyway... Maestro23
Why don't you download the '07 Reboot Mod and try it. You do not need to install MVP 05 at all. During installation, the 07 Mod will need the files off the 2 MVP discs. It will prompt you when they are needed. With your system specs, it should run like a dream. *You don't need any of the EA patches either.
pdawg17
Well....I couldn't get the reboot method to work - probably because I'm running x64 Vista...I'll try installing on my XP virtual OS to see if I can get anywhere...
BigPaPa
DL the reboot. Use tit to install but kill TiT after it unpacks. Go into the Install Folder and open the Archive in there. Inside youll find a Data folder copy that over your current data folder and replace all the files.

Thanks...the problem is when I run TiT and select the reboot file it says it is corrupt...I searched and found that sometimes that happens when firewall blocks internet access but my firewall is open...I'll try redownloading the reboot file I guess... Btw, the reboot file is "07-REboot.TiT"...on the install instructions it says the file is "07-REboot.7z"...am I supposed to rename the file to the .7z extension? Maestro23
Only rename it .7z if you don't have internet access. Also make sure you are running TiT as Admin in Vista.
pdawg17
Thanks everyone...the problem with the TiT unpacking was I had to actually go to the TiT.exe file and run as administrator...I was doing that with the shortcut...everything installed fine so I'm ready for MVP 08 now as well!
