Problem with editing KG's 08 roster 5.1

I've been doing a lot of trying stuff out and am thinking that KG's most recent roster for some reason has aclich of some sort that won't allow it to be edited. I've tried importer/exporter and then edited it with mvpedit and imported the DAT files and the game crashes. Currently I simply tried to add Barry Larkin to the Reds roster this year. I even created him in the game and tried to edit him afterwards using mvpedit. Adding his portrait and cyberface as well as tweeking his stats/info/ratings. I tried this same thing using mvp2005editor and it made the game crash beofre loading as well. Both were used to edit a Dynasty. Any help would be great.
