MAKE EM SAY UGH!!!!!!!! lmao Unfortunately for me...None of the rappers I listen to are on the list because I only listen to underground stuff such as Tech N9ne and Greydon Square Tech N9ne is dope. Do you listen to Papoose?
meteamo
Why was Vanilla Ice and not Snow, Young MC or Master P added? And where are Young MC and some of the members of Wootang Clan? I see Rakim but where was Ghostface Killa', Method Man or ODB (AKA BBJ) ... maybe Rakim did the best rapping. Or, how about Fat Joe being on the list? The other day I listened to Informer by Snow. I wasn't able to understand a single word he was saying. What was that song about? And who sang Baby Got Back? Or what about the Sugar Hill Gang or Warren G ... maybe not Warren G ... LOL >> Voted for Biggie but it was a toss up between him and 2Pac. Eminem is a good lyricist but he doesn't have that many years than Biggie or 2Pac and I don't know if he has as much respect as the two others either. <Dear Mama> * edit * I see one person voted for Vanilla Ice so far. I wonder who that person is?
seanzarelli
Tech N9ne is dope. Do you listen to Papoose? Nah, my friend tried to get me to listen to him but I just really didn't get into it all that much. Also, another rapper I shall add to the list that I like is Sage Francis. MarkB
Some big choices left out (every one of the choices if from the '90s ), but I went for 2Pac. DJ, it's just as well you posted that you added Vanilla Ice. I was ready to ban BigPaPa for having his name in the poll! But yeah, no Run DMC? As KC said, Big Daddy Kane? Gangstarr? KRS-One? EPMD? Mobb Deep? Wu-Tang? Lost Boyz? Onyx? A Tribe Called Quest? LL Cool J? None of these would have been my personal choices, although some come very close, but they are very notable exceptions. EDIT - Also, Lupe Fiasco, he's a monster on the mic and Canibus, one of the best battle rappers ever.
BigPaPa
I only put in single rappers. Big Daddy Kane was on the lsit but i forgot to hit the Add button so i accidentally deleted him. I wanted to keep it somewhat manageable so i cut it off there.
Sean O
Lupe is tremendous. Dizzee, pumpkinhead, Murs (and 9th wonder), Raekwon, talib kweli and mos def (by themselves and in Black Star), busdriver, immortal technique, the roots, blackalicious, de la soul, dead prez, the streets, Common, Public Enemy, Cannibal Ox, El-P, Co Flow... and so on. BigPaPa
Mobb Deep has a few of the best Singles Ever in my mind. 9th wonder has turned some good songs into GREAT! songs. Immortal Technique i love too but he more of a political activist type and that what makes him great i dont see him as your classic rapper type. I wish i coulda added those guys but i really wanted to keep it to artists people would really know and keep it small enough that people wouldn't ask who someone was. meteamo
Can anyone name one hit song Vanilla Ice had besides his Ice, Ice Baby? I forgot about Mobb Deep, KRS-1, Onyx and Lost Boyz. Brings me back to my yout. Public Enemy ... Flava Flavvvvv!!! Who was the guy with the big artifical nose? And no female rappers? Should any be on the list? My friend said a while ago KRS-1 was the last best rap group and everything today is based upon them. Then again, he is older and mostly listens to jazz and blues and not this new stuff.
