xiberger
Today I played my 2000th game of MVP. Unfortunately, it was a 4-10 loss with the Cardinals at Fenway Park. Here are my stats: Despite all the success I've had in MVP, there are still a few things I haven't accomplished yet: - throwing a no-hitter - having a 20+ strikeout game - picking off a base runner Well, maybe those things will happen in my next 2000 games. ;-) How many games of MVP have you played? thr33niL
I've probably player 500+ games. Still never played a dynasty into the post season yet. Always get bored with the team I build and start over. I've picked off quit a few runners but have been picked off 10X more often (hate that). Almost threw a no hitter once until with 1 out in the bottom of the 9th, my finger literally slipped off the button and I served a fatty pitch right down the middle. Heart breaker there. There are so many things that drive me nuts about this game but can't help but love the modibility (not a word) of it and its why I still play. Homer
i haven't played past the first week of a dynasty. like mr. 3-0 above, i get bored and start over, or see something i wanna mod. i've always been curious about getting to the next spring training, but not curious enough i guess. caliboyrob
I haven't kept track of the games I have played...but maybe I should... However, I'm about 25 games into the season and only have 2 losses, since I am aggressive on the basepaths... 2 of my last 3 lost, including getting pummelled by the Reds @ home in SF 12-3 in my last game. Yuck. I should start keeping track by saving my profile...lol
kgree492
As of tonight, I have played 727 games. Most of which have been wins (I just won number 500), and most have been pretty mundane. I have, however, pitched two no-hitters. The first was a perfect game by Carlos Zambrano, the other was a no-hitter by Zambrano as well. I did have Mark Prior pitch a 19-inning complete game win over Atlanta, though, where he was perfect through 18 innings and then gave up two homers in the 19th. That was a much crazier game than anything else I can remember. So far playing MVP has been fun, and I look forward to more crazy games to come. Frozen316
Congrats on 2,000 :wtg: Not sure if this includes any other games I played on different installs but meh. I have been playing on All-Star difficulty with the default datafile. 542 games - 488 Wins - 90% Wins - Playoff Games - 34 - Playoff Wins - 32 No hitters - 4 - Perfect games - 2 - Shutouts - 75 (That is a shutout every 7 games :E) - Pennants won - 1 - World Series Titles - 1 I've played a few 20+ inning games and 2 or 3 30+ inning games. I used to strictly play only with the Mariners but I just started a Dynasty with the Twins - 10 and 2 so far. I have played 336 hours of MVP Baseball while on X-fire. The last few dynasties I've played were fantasy draft "20 and under" teams which had players at or under the age of 20 (including minor leagues). That is impressive xiberger! I have really no idea how many games I have played in MVP because there have been some times that I have had to re-install my game and one time when my computer was re-formatted. I would have to guess I am right around the 2,000 mark too. I have been lucky in my efforts to throw a no-hitter and I have picked off quite a few baserunners. That is one thing I am very good at. Like you, however, I have not struck out 20 hitters in one game yet. Best wishes to your next 2,000!!!
CliffLee
what difficulty level are you guys throwing no hitters and perfect games in? because throwing a no hitter in mvp seems almost impossible. my best game in mvp is a 4 hitter with Carmona...and i struggle to get strikeouts too. the most ive had in a game is probably only 7 or 8. evil1182
I don't even think I know how to pickoff. I'm sure I never got the 20 strikeouts in a game, the most I ever struckout were like 8-9.
evil1182
I've always played on All-Star with the sliders heavily in the CPU's favor. More competitive that way.

I have no idea why I am so successful doing this. I can usually get one pickoff every three games I play. That's because I constantly eye the runner at first.
