beavis29290
I recently got a mac and I'm running windows on parallels but I can't get mvp 2005 to install properly. The game installs and the first few screens load fine but when I get to the team selection page there is missing texture message where the team logos go and on some of the players faces. Does any one have a fix for this or actually got it installed on a virtual machine. ?
wildmoon
I haven't tried parallels, but I couldn't get it to run on on vmware fusion either. But I have no problems at all using a regular Bootcamp partition. it's a bit of a pain to have to reboot the computer onto the partition (and back to leopard when i want to go back to the mac) but i've had no problems at all running mvp 2005 that way. MarkB
You may find this thread useful. It's about installing MVP on Ubuntu, but some of the steps may help you out. :)
beavis29290
This is going to be harder than I thought. First my bootcamp for some reason gives me a black screen on windows install and when I tried on ubuntu for some reason it wont read the 2nd cd and just hangs......I need to get this thing going before MVP 08 is released. Any body else have any suggestions...?
wildmoon
How much space did you allocate for Bootcamp? Are you using Vista or XP?
beavis29290
I used 32gb and I am using vista. Why, Should I use xp ?
wildmoon
xp's probably easier, but the black screen with vista isn't unheard of. actually, it will accept all the key entries even with the black screen. if the problem is what i think it is, it's out of date iMac MXM. go here to update that, and see if that doesn't fix the problem. beavis29290
First, thanks for the quick replies. I finally got it working right. The problem was with my monitor cable. I used the dvi to vga and It worked. I installed on Vista with no problems so far but now that I know what the issue was I will delete and try and install xp and use xplite to eliminate all the crap that I don't need. I was about to get desperate now hopefully MVP 08 will be released.
