PaperAssassin
Let's say I've replaced the Cincinnati Reds with a fantasy team that I've created based in Louisville. At the beginning of a game when they're announcing the two teams that are playing, I want the announcer to say "Louisville" instead of "Cincinnati". By default, there's already a Louisville (minor league) team in the game, so the "audio clip" I'm looking for is already here. I just need to know which audio file I would need to edit/modify to get this to work. Does anybody know?

There are two files that contain the team name information: data audio cd spch_pbp tnamedat.big data audio spch_pbp tnamehdr.big
PaperAssassin
It's not quite working...I edited and imported my changes to the files with BigGUI but now the announcer doesn't say any team names at all. I know I've zeroed in on the correct .fsh numbers because only the teams I'm trying to change have been effected. All other teams still work as normal. What am I missing? xiberger
There are no fsh files in an audio archive, only dat and hdr ones. Anyway, what exactly did you do to change the team names?
PaperAssassin
Oh yeah, that's what I meant - I've zeroed in on the correct dat and hdr files (not fsh) Anyway, using the Cincinnati and Louisville example, I believe Cincinnati is #21 in the audio archive and Louisville is #35. Using BigGUI, I deleted entry #21, and renamed #35 to #21 as the replacement. I assumed that logically this would be the way to do it, but as I said the announcer now doesn't say any team names at all. And yes, I did this to both files that Jim825 mentioned above. xiberger
First, don't use BigGUI! There are many tools out there that are better for modifying archives than that one. Second, you said you deleted #21 and renamed #35 to #21. Does that mean you don't have #35 in your game anymore? Because if so, then I know what the problem is. PaperAssassin
OK, I could scrap BigGUI. Which program would you recommend I use instead for this? Regarding the renaming, yes I've deleted so that I don't have #35 anymore. But when that didn't work, I also tried renaming both ways so that "21 is now 35 and 35 is now 21" but that didn't work either.
xiberger
Actually, you can foget about the header archive (tnamehdr.big). All you need to change is the audio archive (tnamedat.big). Extract #35, rename it to #21 and then import it into the archive again. That should do it. I suggest you use EAGraph to export (File-->Extract) and import (Tools-->Import Wizard)the files. btw, I hope you still have the original files lying around because this won't work if you use the archives you messed up. PaperAssassin
I still have my original files. I can extract no problem, but how would I import? I only get two options: -add to an external TAR -create new SHPI "Import an existing external file" is grayed out. I guess it only works if I'm importing an actual graphic file? xiberger
Choose "Add to an external TAR", then select the archive (tnamedat.big). On the right side, add your modified file and import it.
