What would you want for the perfect modable baseball game?

More stats. More pitcher stats, batter stats, etc... and stats that effect the play of the game. Something like Frontpage Sports or Tony Larusa (sp?) baseball had.

Yeaaaaaaa .... Front Page Sports. They had an in-game line-score I believe too. I wonder if I still have those diskettes. Besides incorporating some of the best things from Front Page Sports, it should also incorporate some of the good features from Baseball Mogul.

Access to the source code

:lmao: Imagine if EA as soon as they lost the license made their source code available? That would be sweet but I imagine Take Two would have an argument for a law suit.

I believe there was a thread like this a while ago that had a ton of good ideas. I think it was If you could change anything in the game, what would it be?.

PS In addition to letting a pitcher pinch hit/run as mentioned above, how about allowing a non-pitcher to pitch? This way, I guess every single player would have pitching and batter stats.

My game-

Presentation

ea has espn under contract so use it! I want the full espn presentation from pregame show to the little espn hd intro at the beginning of the game. also a post game show with the espn guys not only showing highlights on my game but with around the league too. I don't want the two idiots on the booth but the guys who do idk lets say monday or wednesday baseball

stadiums

please i still havent seen a game use the right outfield proportions. Ea or the show are close but it doesn't seem just quite right yet. Real ads of course, and rotating ads behind home plate. I want fans to be as realistic as possible. From eating nachos to venders carrying cotton candy. I want fans to dress to weather appropriately. In 2k8 its 24 degrees and the fans are still in summer clothes. I want weather to be very accurate. Like if a game starts at 7 it should be sunny and as it goes on it should be darker. I want snow, rain, and sometimes lighting. When its a rain delay I want to see the grounds crew try to put the tarp down.

customization

obviously this should be used to the max. Whether I want to use a louisville slugger plain for one at bat and then use another bat thats black. I want customization used to the max.

gameplay

before the game, I want to take batting practice or take fly balls. before eaching inning begins i want to warm up my pitcher. I want my players to move realistic and look realistic. I want to see a diff. batting stance for every player. I want players to have different swings. I want to see adam dunn fall on his face when he tries to make a diving play or watch him watch the ball go between his legs after a routine base hit.

I could go on but it won't. :D

That all sounds cool. It kind of reminds me of the Sims ... which is another EA product. It could be Sims MLB or something like that. LOL

Real ads of course, and rotating ads behind home plate. I want fans to be as realistic as possible.

I'm not sure how this would work. On one hand, it would be free advertising for these companies to have the ads in the game but if the EA or another company sees it as an extra way to make money, maybe not all of the companies that have the ads in the ballparks would go for the idea. On the other hand, if MLB works this into their initial deal / contract with the ad companies that any company having a license with MLB could actually put the real life ads in the game ... maybe that would work but by the same token, MLB may want more money from these ad companies too. I'm not sure what would happen in this case though but it's interesting to do. If not, I'm sure if the game would be moddable, then modders would be able to put the real ads in. Afterall, if the game does everything, then want would the modders do?

But, having 3D fans that would wear fan jerseys and hats would be nice and shouldn't be limited to the 6 or 9 fans that we get now.

I could go on but it won't. :D

Please do. You have really good ideas.

A have a list of all lists:

2. All Minor league teams have their OWN REAL ballpark.

4. Allow pitchers to pinch hit/run.

5. Have a sports ticker scroll at the bottom with the option to have real MLB scores or MVP simulated scores with highlight cutoffs during the game.

10. Widescreen without stretching.

They have this stuff in 2K8.

Ok well I felt like bumping this thread when something in my mind popped up. What if a baseball game was based on the unreal 3 engine? Could you imagine the lighting? My gosh, it would be crazy. I still don't understand why Microsoft won't make their own damn baseball game. Does Microsoft not understand how much suffering is going on in the baseball genera for the 360? Any baseball game made on the 360 other than what 2k offers, would be gold.

Mine;

1. Catcher making a snap throw to first base

2. September 40 man rosters

3. Live stadium scoreboards with updating scores from around the league.

4. Interchangeable announcers maybe a choice of 8 different play-by-play and 8 color announcers and the ability to mix and match. (LOL)

5. different home plate celebrations.

6. occasional balk calls

7. more mobility in player alignment in the field

8. ability to have a batter choke upon the bat

9. A way to customize a schedule and a league

10. a game summary or recap by the announcers for that game

11. more of a variety of dugout views

12. rare fan interference

13. bad hop base hits

14. ability to throw a brush back pitch high and low

15. at the opening of the world series and all star game an option for the players to be announced and line up along the lines of their respective dugouts

I love baseball, and I think architecture is pretty cool, too, so I think it would be cool if you could just pick what kind of "theme" your new stadium would have, like how Camden Yards' "theme" reflects the B&O Warehouse. How cool would it be to have a stadium based on Gothic architecture, or an Adobe-style one like Santa Fe?

Also, you should be able to retire numbers and have them in your stadium. And, if you make the post-season, you should get banners reflecting it.

AND, a Hall of Fame thing would be cool. In the offseason, you can see who gets inducted, maybe even make fake plaques. But that seems like it would be really difficult.
