highlight_reel
Let's say MVP was to come back again (presumptious, and impossible... but let's speculate.) Who would be the announcers for the game? I know many of you around here love Vin Scully, but the fact of the matter is that a lot of the times, the less known the announcer... the better the game is called. ASB 04 was called pretty well by Thom Brennaman, where as ASB 00 wasn't called all that great by Sterling and Kay. Talking about ASB 04, what about Spanish language announcers? Who is the best at doing that? I know that there are a few Spanish speakers around here, so put your input in! So... I was thinking that for English, it could be: Dave Niehaus, Rick Rizzs, and Ron Fairly. Maybe... Sunday night baseball or something could be thrown in, in which you'd get special announcers... like Scully and Steiner, or maybe Brennaman and someone else. Maybe Chip Caray would even do well in this game, because he'd at least know who the players are. Thoughts? EDIT: I was fearful of sounding like a homer... but since I'm a Mets fan... how about Cohen, Darling, and Hernandez? IT'S OUTTA HERE, and struck him out and the ballgame is OVER could be two great video game calls. I'm not sure how they'd do on a game though, because chemistry really doesn't matter. Can you imagine, by the way? http://www.lukekohler.com/2007/07/17/ratin...-tv-announcers/ KUIPER AND KRUKOW ARE FIRST?!!??! That's why we need lesser known people. LetsPlay2
IMO, In a perfect MVP Vin Scully and Al Leiter would be the announcers.
timay
ron darling, keith hernandez, and gary cohen are a trip. This is one reason I love watching mets games, if they were announcing on MVP I would love this game so much more. Now if Michael Kay, John Sterling, Jerry Remy etc etc were announcing, I would never play the game ever again or turn off the sound, ESPECIALLY if Susan Waldman was announcing as well. JOHN3057
I think John Rooney is great on radio. He is the radio voice of the St. Louis Cardinals and formally of the Whitesox. He also does ESPN radio. He is clear and concise. No catchy phrases. Just very old school voice. Check him out sometime. He is worth listening to. At least I think so. :wtg:
highlight_reel
I've heard Rooney is great, as well. Never listened to him... but he might be alright. LOL @ Buck and Aikman, and unfortunately, Rizzuto's not a viable option anymore... but that might be nice. The issue with Cohen, Darling, and Hernandez is that Keith could be the equvalent of Krukow. He might be good on TV, but not necessarily good in a game. Any Spanish announcers that anyone can think of?
BigRog
When and if the next mvp comes out, they better have good announcers because with EA closing down the sports pc division, no moddable pc version will be coming out.
timay
Is EA really closing down the PC sports division?
BigRog
its on its way down. They have already shut down two sports games, Madden and another (The title slips my mind right now). It is only a matter of time.
JP_Frost
they also shut down nba live I think. That only leaves Fifa Soccer and NHL (??). The fact that they shut down both Madden and Nba Live, which I believe are their two best selling games, so that tells me that even if EA gets the mlb license back it will probably not be released on pc. This is basically forcing me to buy a console. as for announcers -- Vin Scully

DeuceBlades
I refuse to by a console, because I have seen baseball games frome EA before they stopped making MVP. They look like generic models, with no cyberfaces or anything. If they decide to come back with MVP, I hope they put more effort into creating every player the right way, and more emphasis onthe minors.....and no more names like Rafael Suzuki. I hated the way the original MVP 2005 created players. But anyway, if you havnt heard Cleveland Indians announcer Tom Hamilton, your missing a real treat. TribeTime or anyone of the guys from Cleveland could tell ya about him. Hes one of the best in the Biz ;)

BigRog
Orsillo-Remy, simple as thatThey are good but they are no where close to scully. IMO they wouldn't be a good combo for a video game because they ramble on about non relevant topics way too much

lofton0788
I'd love to see some of the radio guys do that announcing, sinc ethey tend to be better then the TV guys imo...Having a guy like Tom Hamilton or Howie Rose (Mets) would be far better than having Keith Hernendez and gary cohen
donutbandit
Kruk and Kuip were better on the radio than on TV. I'm listening to Kuip and Dave Fleming announce the Giants game right now. Krukow never does radio any more. The thing is, it's a lot different creating voiceovers for a video game than calling a baseball game. It took Kruk and Kuip a few years to get the hang of it, and there are still some glitches in 2005. Krukow almost never obsesses over bunting on TV like he does in the game. Or speed. To listen to him in the game, you'd think that a fast runner is the ultimate weapon. I ignore them, and concentrate on getting the hitter out. I've also developed the habit of punching the throw to second button after every pitch, just in case.
