Cudaflu
Hey guys and gals, I was just wondering how many walks you draw while playing a game? I usually don't draw any, and when I do I can never seem to get more than one... I just swing at everything. It's strange because in real life, I'm a very selective hitter with a pretty good eye. Anyone else the same way?
Lucas
I'm pretty much the same as you. MVP is easy to hit cause the pitch is always near the zone. Real ball is a bit harder...

ViperVisor
1 a game I don't play on harder setting so I don't need to be patient.
LupeFiasco
2 or 3 times a game. I am getting better at it.
dannyt
I hardly ever get a walk. I'm way too impatient.
catzrthecoolest
I get a decent amount of walks... If i don't think about walking, then i hardly ever do, but when i start to think about it it's kind of easy to
InSainn
When I'm playing everyday I usually get around 5 or more a game but if I don't play for about a week I start swingin more freely and only get 1 or 2 a game... I think that speaks volumes for why teams who have long layoffs in the playoffs while waiting for the next round tend to struggle...
DeuceBlades
Its something you have to be patient with. You have to be selective and know the pitchers pitches. I usually draw about 4 a game with different guys. I have drew up to about 8 in some. Not often, but sometimes. It becomes easier the more you practice. You just have to be patient and keep from swinging at everything. Its hard as heck to do, believe me, but you can train yourself to do it.
JP_Frost
I'm too patient at times, but generally I draw around 4 or 5 walks per game. The best ones are when you foul off a bunch of pitches and eventually get the free pass.
matrocks12
I am patient some games, work the pitcher to about 100 pitches through 5 innings, with maybe 5 or 6 walks. Other games the pitcher will go 9 innings with no walks and 60 pitches. I'm not sure why, but that's just how it works for me...
Cudaflu
Just played a game against the Marlins and drew five walks. To get them, you just need to be in the mindset of trying to get walked I guess.
rixmithco
Easiest player to get a walk with is your pitcher. The computer will generally try to tease him with pitches just out of the zone.
seanzarelli
The way I play, I usually draw around 3-4 walks a game. I always take the first 2 pitches and then go from there. In real life, I was the walk king which led to lots of stolen bases by me and runs scored by me.
Superstar
Walks are very very rare for me. Maybe once every 10 games or somthing like that.
Sharpshooter
3-4 for me. My approach is that I will not swing at strikes that are either to close to the hitter or if it's a breaking pitch. Remember, a good pitcher will throw junk in the strike zone to get you out. If you wait for another strike it will usually be a fastball that you can get good wood on it. If you swing at ALL STRIKES, then don't expect to get any walks unless you have any players in GOD Mode which the CPU will intentionally walk you.
