DJAelbi Posted June 8, 2008 Share Posted June 8, 2008 Anyone else ever get this. I get this almost all the time when use mvpedit to edit rosters. Does anyone know why this happens? How to avoid it. How to fix it. In the past it has screwed up the rosters in the game. Anyone??? HELP! Someone respond. Even if you don't know what it's about. Just so I know people still respond to my posts. MarkB Posted June 8, 2008 Share Posted June 8, 2008 Only 1 of your last 10 threads has gone without a response, so you're not doing badly at all. I've seen it in the past, and have cleared it by resetting all the lineups and rotations and replacing them. It seems to be just a minor bug in the program, but it's never caused any effect on my game. Does this have anything to do with one of your previous posts where you are trying to create a player in the roster or are you just trying to resolve the NL lineup issue? So I've taken KG's 5.2 and added a 5 players from 1994 onto the Washington Nationals. moved players down and out of the organization accordingly to make all of the rosters and lineups complete within their limits. THen I check for errors before I go to extract the DAT. IT tells me that the Harrisburg Senators have the NL Lineup vs. RHP & LHP not complete errors. I go to check and there's nothing wrong. So, to proceed I run the game in Dynasty and Ryan Zimmerman is gone and instead it says Default Default. Also on one of the AA teams lineups. THis is why I keep asking... No one seems to have an answer and it causes the game to crash. I've backed up my stuff, so I'm safe there, but I just don't understand. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

So, the lineup thing is fine, but the Default Default players are still there. What the hell? So, I guess than that's what I need help with. What could be doing this. I am using importer/exporter to load the roster into my Dynasty. Could it be a problem with that? I can try replacing Zimmerman and whoever's missing on the Senators and see if that works, but What's causing the problem? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
meteamo Posted June 8, 2008 Share Posted June 8, 2008 Just as with what Mark mentioned ... if you get an error similar to that, it's always good to: 1. Note which lineup / rotation is giving you an error 2. Clear respective lineup(s) or rotation(s) 3. Based upon what you want or what they were before, recreate the lineup and rotation. It sounds like when you are creating a player and moving it to your team from the free agency pool, that it's not filling up a slot in your lineup (as you mentioned) and since there is nobody in the slot then the game just fills it with a "default" player. If that is the case, I would tend to think the game would be crashing on you instead of running with those rosters. And again, if you follow the above steps then hopefully, you won't have the "default" player showing up. It's advisable to make sure you have the latest version of the rosters and/or mvpEdit application which can be downloaded either on this site or EAmods. I'm not sure about the guy not showing up in the game. Again, it sounds like a glitch with the lineups ... as if moving around the player swaps it with the wrong slot ... or maybe one player you created is swapped for two players (slot-wise). Just in case, you can check to see if Zimmerman is in the free agency pool for some reason. But the first thing I would do is to follow the three steps above. Good luck and let us know what happens. DJAelbi Posted June 8, 2008 Author Share Posted June 8, 2008 I appreciate your help...but things still aren't clearing up. Got the most recent version of it all. I'm not creating players at all. I'm simply exporting players from one roster and importing them into this particular roster. Then I move players down to teams. However, I'm starting to think that's it's not related to that aspect of mvpedit if any at all. I reset all lineups and the error message went away, but the Default Default thing keeps happening. Zimmerman isn't in the free aganecy pool in the game. Everything looks fine with mvpedit. lineups are fine now. It's upon importing it into the game where the problem seems to be now I'm thinking. What I want to know is for all the people who mess around with the rosters in mvpedit... how do you peeps go about adding players from roster to roster. And how does this not happen to anyone else?
