#3: Circle Change: 60, 55, 77 2-8

#5: Slider: 50, 40, 87 11-5

College: Old Dominion University

Drafted 27th Round pick 798

Year 2003

Olson, standing at a mere 5' 11" reminds many of Roy Oswalt in stature. He throws a low 90s fastball, decent change up, an average splitter and slider. His bread-and-butter, however, is his curveball which many scouts have compared to that of Josh Beckett. The main concern is, can he hold up as a starter due to his lack of size. Working on his control and being more efficient will greatly help his chances to suceed.

Ok, we reached the 50-vote mark that I was waiting for...

I'm gonna do another poll narrowed down to the top 3 teams, the Nats, Pirates and A's.

(I was hoping the Giants would make a late splash, I love their ballpark).

Orioles, Royals and Giants have been eliminated from contention.

I'll post it later in the day; please revote when I do. This will be the final vote and I have a predetermined number when to close it.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Also, I have a business trip to New York from Wed. through Sat., so updates are gonna be slow over the next week.

I apologize for this, as I really want to get the updates and games in quickly. PLEASE BE PATIENT.

No problem wolfy, I'll be patient - NO MATTER WHAT - because I'm just catching up after taking two days off (the weekend). Man, I have got to tell you, more stuff happens on MVPmods over a weekend, than a swap meet in February in Stamford, CT...

Sincerely,

--- vbprogjoe (Joe W.) :wtg:  :yarr:

Igy and Olson: I'll be adding you guys when I get back from NY.

Igy: I got your pm about choosing whatever team (since the Cards/Mets are closed). If this is ok, I'm gonna stick you on the White Sox, the last team without a Top 100 Prospect

Also, we now have 72 prospects. I never thought in a million years I'd get this much particpation. (Now, I just need time to play some more games)

I'll be back Sunday from NY, so hopefully I can squeeze in a couple games.

(I may check in on the site from time-to-time while I'm NY)

Why am I 170 pounds?? I'm only 135 in real life...I made myself 150 (the minimum in my Bisons dynasty)

Could you PM me with any info you need from me plz? I think you said something about a write-up. I also have a portrait pic if you were gonna use mvpedit and import them. Thanks

If I remember correctly, I adjusted it, because I couldn't do 135 pounds, which is what I think you put. So, I did what an average person at that height would be. I could be thinking of the prospect, and this may just be a typo.

Note: I said this way before you joined, but I did add some "meat" to some people (10/20 lbs), where the bone profile didn't really match the weight (mlb teams does this all the time, infact my college did this too)

I'm really 59/170, but they put 511, 190 in the media guide

I've also "proportionally" changed some peoples attributes to make them a single-a prospect. Some guys had too high of attributes and kept get promoted to the AAA/majors after a week or so. Not realistic at all

At this time, I don't think I'm gonna do porttraits, especially, if it only one or two people. Just to time consuming and plsu I've already started the dynasty, so I'm not using mvpedit anymore: I'm using MVPEditor to change a computer-generated "fake" player to the prospects that join up at this point.

Gabriel Wood

Year:2004 (Montreal Expos)

Round 14

Pick 414

Brooke Point High School

The 19 year old is a solid defensive catcher with a great glove and a strong arm. Runners should be wary when Wood is behind the plate. He lacks pop with his bat, but is able to hit for decent average. Speed is a major concern and he does not pose much of a threat on the base paths.

Eric Perez, RP, NYM

College: Boston University

Draft: 2004

Round: 62nd

Pick Selection: 1390th

Any Met fan could figure out why ;)

MrMet, I admit I'm not old enough to remember anything before 1982 (the last time my beloved Brewers made it), but I thought I was a pretty hip and knowledgeable baseball fan. You have me stumped, what in the heck does the 62nd Round and 1390th pick mean? It can't have anything to do with 1962, because the San Francisco Giants and New York Yankees played in that World Series. The Mets and Orioles played in 1969 (the "Team of Destiny"). So, yeah, I'm baffled and bewildered!!! :?:

Sincerely Thanks,

+++ vbprogjoe (Joe W.) :question:

I believe he is referring to Mike Piazza, former Mets and LA Dodgers catcher (and others) who was drafted in 1988 in the 62 round and later in 1993 won the Rookie of the Year Award. I loved Piazza (I'm a huge Mets fan) and was sad to see him go.

The 20 year old All-American is one of the top pitching prospects in the game. He's got a fastball in the upper 90s with a lot of movement, along with a hard, nasty curve that he still needs to harness at times. He's still working on his changeup and slider as they aren't reliable third or fourth options yet. Think A.J. Burnett.
