Guys, I want to apologize for being AWOL.

But here's the scoop, my personal computer FINALLY crapped-out. I knew it would happen eventually, just not so soon. It's getting repaired because of some work-related stuff was on it, but I didn;t want to wait for a month+ for it to comeback. So, I had to purchase a new computer, which just arrived on Tuesday. It's set up and ready go.

The good news is I backuped the Top 100 Prospects roster on a flash drive. So, I only lost the last few guys I entered after the season started.

The bad news I hadn't backed up the season to it, which means I have to start the season over (I was only two weeks in, so now big deal), plus I had to reinstall MVP05 and all the downloads I uploaded for it (this part is done).

I do have to add in the last few players, because they were not added until I already started the season, but that shouldn't take long.

So, the restart is gonna Friday, which means the two guys that were injured are no longer injured and Pengelley might pitched better...LOL.

Olson, standing at a mere 5' 11" reminds many of Roy Oswalt in stature. He throws a low 90s fastball, decent change up, an average splitter and slider. His bread-and-butter, however, is his curveball which many scouts have compared to that of Josh Beckett. The main concern is, can he hold up as a starter due to his lack of size. Working on his control and being more efficient will greatly help his chances to suceed.

hey man thats sucks, well i reposted my stuff so whenever u get a chance u can hopefully add it

Guys, some good news--the dynasty is going good -- 1 week down (just a matter of putting up some updates). The first few games are there, not the last 3.

Also, my brother (JC Wolfe) and friend (Richie Wendell) have come up with a great idea for the 100 prospects, that is when we get to the 100 prospects.

They want to do a 2005 season as the Montreal Expos Organization, as if they never moved to Washington after the '04 debacle.

I wont be playing the games for that franchise (heavily involved in my other one), they'll be playing the games, while I just be the General Manager/Coach (callups/signups, etc) and update the franchise on this site.

Now, we need to get 30 more prospects first, and mostly pitchers for this to work.

Cheers, wolfy

Sounds like an interesting idea. What would that involve exactly, putting all the Nationals/Expos players to free agency and signing some of the Top 100 to the team and holding an expansion draft or processing or manipulating trades with other teams and the such???

No, I (my brother and friend) would just replace the Nationals with all of us. And instead of using the Nats, we would be the Expos, like they never moved. The Stadium and uniforms are already in the game.

Of course, we need to fill out the roster and we need more pitchers for this to happen, because right now, we don't have enough pitchers (and way too many middle infielders)

Mayer/Matt Hall would you be intersted in playing as pitcher? The Rays already have a Top 100 Prospect as 1B, 2B, SS and 3B (the entire infield)

Speaking of which, the Rays are now closed for Top 100 Prospects

Oh, so it would be a little like Blades' Atlanta Braves dynasty he started a while ago? I see, said the blind and deaf mute...

Except it would be for all teams in the Expos organization (MLB, AAA, AA, A) as if they never left for DC

Again, I'm not playing the games (my brother/friend would be doing that), I'm just the GM. I would just upload boxscores and do a series recap type of thing on here.

  • 2 weeks later...

Guys,

Please read the whole thing (especially after the dashes).

This dynasty has become way too much for me to handle. Its was a great undertaking on my part, keeping track of all prospects, finiding them on their respective teams, reporting them on here, updating dynastymanager, and doing the Cardinals games, too.

Too much of undertaking for me to handle!

If I didn't work 10 hours a day, I'd have to focus on it and make it better that it has been. Its unfair for those, who patiently waited for me for updates and I couldn't deliver. This is my fault. I just couldn't find the right flow on this, and it seemed too chaotic. It just didn't live up to what I have done in the past and what I truly wanted for it.

With that said, I'm still playing the games as its my Cardinals dynasty, and I'll keep everyone tabs on how their guys is doing, its just gonna be more of a "back-burner" type of thing and sporadic.

Now moving on to the project that my brother, JC and roommate, Denman wanted to do.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The project is simple, my brother and roommate came up cool idea for dynasty. A '05 dynasty about the Montreal Expos, as if they were never disbanded and moved to DC after 2004 season. And, in so using the Expos, with the 70+ of us on that organization.

This will be easy for me, as every one of us will be in one spot.

This won't be much of an undertaking for me, as I'm rarely playing any games. I'm just the GM and facilitator on this website. In fact, I'm also gonna use the DynastyManager (sinces its already set for it for this franchise). Just need to change it to Expos, and delete the Cardinals info which is easy to do.

Again, I'm gonna keep this thread open as I'm gonna sporadically update on here. But my brother and roommate are itching to do this Expos one, and so am I (as GM anyways).

Tonight and tomorrow, JC, Denman and myself are gonna be putting the team together. We may use the MLB filled with vets, and the 70 of us on the 3 levels of minors. (which means if some guys don't mind, can I move your to pitcher to fill the rotations; just post on the Top 100 thread)

If your new and like to join, please use the Top 100 thread (this thread) to post your info. And I'll create you in both franchises

Thanks and good luck

We've started putting the Montreal Expos organization together for a 3-man (Denman, J.D. and myself as General Manager) dynasty.

What we did was release the entire Nats roster, we picked up old, 30-somethings to fill out major league roster. Goal being that they retire after Year 1 or get injured long-term, so our guys can move up to the bigs.

Some of the 30+ guys we chose are some old time favorites of ours that were in the free agent list, like Ray Lankford, Barry Larkin, Brad Fullmer, Ellis Burks and my personal favorite Izzy "Karate Kid" Alcantara as our part-time LF.

We needed RPs, so I moved a couple of guys that I knew were pitchers in other CAP Dynasties, like Phil Barnes. Buchman had listed SP as his secondary option, so we moved him to the pen. Also, Matt vander Linden was moved to RP, because he's 6'8, I wouldn't want to face that. (think RJ). I even move myself to the pen to make sure some of the others guys were kept as starters,

Some guys will start on the free agent list to begin the year, but as injuries occur, we'll pick them up.

We are just changing a couple of things, like the putting in the Expos unis, etc. So, when they start playing the games, I'll start posting them.

I've already started updating the dynastymanager page.

The reason we are doing this is because we wanted to do something we're everyone was in one place. And I wanted to do something where I can have a free-flowing; less chaotic dynasty, where people don't lose interest, because of it being slow-moving.

This wasn't happening with the Top 100 one. With that said, I'm still playing my Cards dynasty; its just going slowly, because I've got to keep tabs on too many people.

Cheers,

A.P.

Lucas,

No first name, I think I have to create one when I edit the "generic" players (see Note)

The Rays are closed for the Top 100 (someone recently took the last spot; I'm using a max of 5/team).

Also closed are Red Sox, Blue Jays, Cardinals, Mets, Dodgers and Cubs

Note: I'm doing two dynasties.

1. I'm doing the Cards one, where were all in resepctive teams.

The Cards was already started; see POst #1 for link

2. But my brother (JD) and roommate (Den) are doing a Montreal Expos one with all of us (I'm the GM and will be reporting on here)

Hey, wolfy, the Expos dynasty is a GREAT idea, and it sounds like it has the potential to be a team that develops like a Milwaukee Brewer, Arizona Diamondback, or Colorado Rockie type team/franchise. So BRAVO, and I'll be excited to see the progress and development of a "potential" powerhouse dynasty.

In the spirit of bipartisanship, and of all days, the anniversary of 9/11, if it wouldn't be too much trouble (and in NO particular hurry), when you get the dynasty all set up and prepared and in "harmony" with the Chi - could you please send (notify) me of the level (AAA, AA, A), team name of the farm team, and position(s) I'm playing and whether I'm in the starting lineup or on the bench? I would imagine you are going to put me at RF (as that is what I requested at sign up), but I realize you might have a glut of right fielders, so you might have to put me at LF or CF - which is fine, because sometimes teams have to fit players in at other outfield positions because of logjams at certain outfield positions. It would just be nice to know that information for my own edification, but again, no rush or HURRY!

In this season where it seems everybody is taking everyone else's politics personal, I figure in honor of those who have given their lives in service, and those who, unfortunately, died that tragic day, I'd like to bridge that gap of anger. To show that a Republican-leaning independent (me) can talk and converse civilly with a Democratic-leaning independent (you: at least that is what I infer from the discussion thread they made up), I'm trying to reach across the electronic aisle, so to speak. Why should we let the fact I'm most definitely going to vote McCain-Palin, and you in turn, are most likely going to vote Obama-Biden (again that is what I infer from that thread: If I'm wrong, I apologize), affect a little MVP dynasty discourse. People, it is just politics, it's NOT personal - it's just politics. We all want what is best for this country, we may disagree on what it is, but we are all Americans. In remembrance of those who died 7 years ago (all of them heroes), may they rest in Peace and Honor (or whatever you say in remembrance)!!!

Sincerely,

--- vbprogjoe (Joe W.)

P.S. I'm sorry to go off in a tangent and put that last paragraph in this thread, but I just can't go in that thread today - there is too much anger and hostility there, and it would mar the memories of those who we should remember. So I'm quickly putting it here. From now on, it is back to the cauldron of anger...

Vbprogjoe,

I'm actually excited about this, especially since I'm not really playing and can still do my other one (although its basically on a crawl right now).

We have the teams/level together and have already played one series with Expos (Philly swept us) and a AA Harrisburg game (we lost that one, too). I'm just waiting to we get a little further in, so I have alot of information. Also, I haven't had time to complete the dm page overhaul yet.

My guess is I start the thread sometime this weekend (although I'm really busy moving fridges, yard sale and dump runs). That's why I'm delaying the thread some.

Basically, I based it off on what time number you were (by position) to determine which level each guy was at.

Since, you were one of the last OFs, I believe your on Level A Potomac Nationals (I kept the name, because I already had their unis/name change/logo). I'm almost positive you're batting cleanup, starting in RF against RHP.

Cheers,

AP

Here is my updated bio for the Expos series. This sounds really awesome since I love the city of Montreal! Really wish they would bring the Nordiques back to hockey in Quebec. But oh well. Here is my prospect thing.

I know you added height and weights to people but can you make me 5'10 150 (instead of 5'11" 170) as a compromise? (I'm 5'9 135 in real life) I am also 22 years of age not 18...lol

"This pitcher relies on his pitch movement rather than his velocity to snare batters. He has a decent change-up and 2-seam fastball, but he'll need to work on his 4-seamer's speed and his knuckleball's control in order to be more effective on the mound."
