MarlinsMS_35
I just got back from IMG today. it was l ot of fun. here are my notes. HITTING - Preperation. Never let the first time you see a pitcher be your first AB, or first inning. Watch him in the bullpen. - Load with hands, not shoulders. - Keep bat at a 45° angle at launch position. - Avoid bat coming flat when triggering. - Divide swing into 3 segments. (load, step, swing) - You can't see something if you aren't looking for it. (ball spin) - Have line from lead wrist to elbow point toward the pitcher. (move hands farther away from the body) - Step straight, not inside. - Don't tilt head PITCHING - 5 balls fit across home plate. - Bring balance leg up, not out. - Stay in power circle. (width of rubber)
meteamo
Welcome back. I've noticed from the website that they had a lot of other sports there. Did you just focus on baseball or did you do anything else too? What else did you do besides baseball? What was the youngest kid you saw there? Do you think they were cheaper or more expensive for the quality? My GF who lives a few hours away from there has a kid who's into sports but he may be too young right now. Maybe he'll be the next Tiger or Jordan. LOL. Thanks for any info you can provide.
MarlinsMS_35
I just did baseball. The youngest kids there for baseball was 9-10, but there were some 5-6 year old tennis players running around. I lived in a dorm because I don't live close enough to the campus. They have rooms on campus, and rooms at Champions Walk (where I stayed) which about 2 minutes off of campus. they have shuttles continuously bringing people to and from. I think all of the younger kids stayed on campus, because all of the people at champions walk were my age. i would describe it as a sleep away sports camp on steroids. Here was my schedule: AM 6:30 Wake Up (Alarm Clock for me.....Younger kids get woken up by dorm mentors) *Take shuttle to main campus* 7-8 Breakfast (at main campus) *8:15 Shuttle Leaves for baseball (From main campus)* 8:30-11:15 Practices (Defense, Pitching) *Take shuttle back to main campus* 11:30 am-12:45 pm Lunch (When I finished eating I went back to my dorm for a little bit) PM *Take shuttle from dorm back to main campus* 12:45-1:30 (Tues, Thurs, Fri---IPI) (Mon, Wed---Metal Conditioning) *1:45 Shuttle leaves for field* 2-4 Practices (Hitting) *Take shuttle back to main campus* *Take shuttle from main campus to champions walk* 6-7 Dinner (*Take shuttle from champions walk to main campus*) *Take shuttle to champions walk from main campus* 7-... Hang around for the rest of the night.
