MarkB
Some nice ideas there guys, thanks. But Rog, damn, what is it with you and the nine's? Only 2 posts in the thread have got 9, and both are yours! Well, for now, there's only the desktop and laptop, so an SSID + 2 PC names, but I do like the idea of sub-names, like the ones meteamo and kraw mentioned. Caturday, though...hmm. Need a sub-name for that. Router SSID = Caturday, PC 1 name = "I", PC 2 name = "can", PC 3 name = "haz", PC 4 name = "cheezburger?"...wouldn't really work with just 2 systems. angryrat - :lmao: I like that. PC names Rab, Mary and Cotter. I'm liking Skynet as well.
MarkB
Well, KC was right. There can only be one name for a network.
RaptorQuiz
Good lord, do you live in the middle of a neighborhood sponsored by the Wireless Networking Association??? :)
MarkB
Nope - just a "regenerated" neighbourhood which attracts people that have more money than sense. Other than my own, I've already gained access to 3 of the networks on that list. Gotta love WEP encryption.
meteamo
Skynet? Does that mean the machines are going to take over soon? What was that guy's name that created Skynet in Terminator?
RaptorQuiz
Skynet? Does that mean the machines are going to take over soon? What was that guy's name that created Skynet in Terminator? Skynet was the name of the defense network that eventually became "self-aware" and attacked humanity. Dyson was the name of the man primarily responsible for creating Skynet (in movie #2). It was the general in movie #3, but I don't remember his name right now.
Kccitystar
I had named my network tons of different things like: Skynet The Revolution FBI Surveillance among others

I actually forgot Dyson's name. I didn't watch the third movie though so I wouldn't know about the general. But the TV show is ready to come back shortly so all is good. I had named my network tons of different things like: Skynet The Revolution FBI Surveillance among others Good idea. How about a network named "Homeland Security" and the various computers could be called "FBI", "CIA", "FEMA" and so forth? My home network seems boring compared to the others here. My network name and the computers are named after the house's address and the type and number of computer. Boring! I was thinking about renaming my network "Wonderland" and renaming my aunt's machine to "Alice" and my second machine to "Jabberwocky". My laptop is already "Maddhatter". But the "FBI Surveillance" name I think would freak people out. That may be good for the neighborhood police department.
RaptorQuiz
You'd have to name your slowest and most useless computer "FEMA."
