boxieblue
hi. i wanted to know are big names necessary in the dynasty mode? for example, i want to release Manny Ramirez(he charges a ridiculous $20.0 million/year) but will releasing him make my team's rank fall? (i am sorry if this has been posted somewhere, but i tried a search and didn't find anything. @mods-if this has been posted before and u plan to close it, at least give me the link to the similar thread )
Totte
Yes it'll definitely make your ranking fall since he's such a good player but why not trade him instead. If you go to game options and turn off team budgets you can trade him away for cheap prospects instead of eating a chunk of money yourself. That way you'll boost your team for the future and dump a lot of salary.
boxieblue
i made a better player(the highest stats possible) myself and he asked for just 13mn. Ramirez is designed to be costly because he is famous. trading him is exactly what i want to do, but i want to make sure that my rank won't fall too low. so is it okay if i release/trade him? MarlinsMS_35
I actually kind of cheat when I create player. i put all stats at 0 so they siogn for nothing in a 7y deal. After i sign them, then I boost up their stats.

boxieblue
@marlin- lol well, i sometimes create a player with high stats and sign him up, then trade him for some other good player. after the trade, i literally ruin the created player i created a pitcher with the highest stats, put him on the free agents list, and now new york is stuck with a s*cker....lol but that didn't answer my question....... maddux31
Doesn't this kind of take away from the fun realism of running a dynastY? It's kind of like playing a FPS in God mode or unlimited ammo? That's just my perspective and opinion.
ronmexico
Well the mods design you to have the players actual contract, it's not because he is famous, it is because Manny Ramirez really makes 20 million a year.
boxieblue
thanks everyone i released ramirez yesterday, my batter rankings fell from from 2nd to 27th then i editted a few of the players and i was up to rank 1 again thanks for the replies @maddux-yes u r right. i wish EA had some feature that didn't allow us to edit players after they have been signed by a team. @ronmexico-thanks for the info. btw, after i put him in the free agents list, he was asking for only 14mn/year
