The only issue I can foresee is with the registry info...I mean, would it really be any different than installing to a partition on a HDD? We'll find out haha... MarkB Posted August 2, 2008 Share Posted August 2, 2008 Nope, it wouldn't. It would essentially be plug 'n' play MVP - plug in your flash drive and you're up and running. Would save a lot of HDD space as well and would be faster at installing mods, since it would be faster at unpacking and repacking the files. MarkB Posted August 2, 2008 Share Posted August 2, 2008 It would probably run faster, yes, but smoother, I don't know. Depends on your hardware and software configuration. In other words, if it's slow HDD access times that are causing your stuttering or slowness issues, then it's possible that running it on a flash drive would make it faster because data access times for a USB 2.0 flash drive are significantly less that HDD access times. However, if your stuttering is being caused by not enough graphics memory, conflicts with drivers or incorrect AA/AF settings, it won't help. I feel that this can definitely happen, I'm just not 100% sure how to do it. And my flash drive is just a bit too small to complete the install lol. And having them constantly acessed like that shortens their life. Im not talking overnight or anything but over time.
