coldcell
I'm using the keyboard default control configuration. Pitching I know that if you hold shift, you can throw the ball outside. But what if I want the ball to be half inside, half outside or just totally at the corner? Also it seems I cannot target outside on some locations. ie I want to be able to pitch anywhere around the strike zone Batting So If I want to hit a home run, I should hold NUMPAD 8? Well the problem is if I already have a runner on 1st base and I try to hit a homerun, then my guy on 1st will go to 2nd base and ended up getting out. This control conflict is really making it hard to score anything. Any tips on how a recommended control configuration should be?
yanksrcool05
While I play 2004, I used to have the same problem with batting. The answer... Simply go to configure controller to the keyboard settings and tweak some controls for individual runners moving bases. Now swing aims and stealing will be separate controls. With pitching, the locations vary a little, sometimes it's half in the strike zone or not in at all.
JP_Frost
this is not a knock on any of you using the keyboard, but I've seen so many threads about people having issues with it or finding it difficult to play the game, so why don't you just buy a controller? It's pretty cheap and it works so much better (not just for this game).
yankeeboi14
yeah you should look into getting a controller. specifically a logitech dual action works great for all ea games

stcardinal
There are already a lot of threads regarding controlling on the keyboard. I'm a keyboard user and I play fine with it after reconfigurating the entire thing. To pitch half in and half out you need to stop the meter in the brown area either right before green or after green. It's different for lefty and righty pitchers. As to hitting homeruns, you want to hold up while your swing.

C-Boz
i personally love the knucle curve. the comp usually swings at it out of the zone if you put it under the strike zone. its a great out pitch
