nitrofan
I play only the classic versions of MVP and have a question.. How do you change the the home field defaults for various teams.. Example: I was playing an exhibition game as the 1993 Atlanta Braves and the field was the home stadium for the Toronto Blue Jays.. How can I make it automatically default to Fulton County Stadium.. Fulton shows up as the 1980 Braves home stadium, so I know the stadium is installed correctly.. I have seen other errors where the Stadium is not correct with the home team and was wondering what files to edit to correct this... Thanks!! Jim825
The reason that the 1980 Braves have the proper default stadium is because they replaced the 2005 Braves. The 1993 Braves replaced the 2005 Toronto Blue Jays, so that is why they default to the Skydome. When Total Classics was developed, the minor league teams were replaced by classic teams first. The major league teams were the last ones that were replaced. When we added the last 30 teams to Total Classics (after adding the 90 previous teams to the minor league slots), we tried to have a classic team replace its 2005 team to make things easier (e.g. team audios would not have to change, default stadiums would be the same, etc.). That's why the 1980 Braves replaced the 2005 Braves or the 1990 Athletics replaced the 2005 Athletics. Unfortunately, we could not do this for every team (e.g. the 1962 Giants replace the 2005 Angels). That's why some teams do not use the proper default stadium. Here is the mapping of Total Classics teams to Major League teams: '62 Giants replace 2005 Angels '90 Athletics replace 2005 Athletics '79 Pirates replace 2005 Mariners '96 Rangers replace 2005 Rangers '83 White Sox replace 2005 White Sox '99 Indians replace 2005 Indians '84 Tigers replace 2005 Tigers '52 Athletics replace 2005 Royals '91 Twins replace 2005 Twins '83 Orioles replace 2005 Orioles '75 Red Sox replace 2005 Red Sox '77 Yankees replace 2005 Yankees '91 Pirates replace 2005 Devil Rays '93 Braves replace 2005 Blue Jays '50 Phillies replace 2005 Diamondbacks '95 Rockies replace 2005 Rockies '77 Dodgers replace 2005 Dodgers '84 Padres replace 2005 Padres '89 Giants replace 2005 Giants '89 Cubs replace 2005 Cubs '70 Reds replace 2005 Reds '64 Phillies replace 2005 Astros '74 White Sox replace 2005 Brewers '71 Pirates replace 2005 Pirates '64 Cardinals replace 2005 Cardinals '80 Braves replace 2005 Braves '97 Marlins replace 2005 Marlins '98 Padres replace 2005 Nationals '75 Indians replace 2005 Mets '93 Phillies replace 2005 Phillies To get the proper default stadium, simply rename the stadium you want to the proper default stadium for the major league slot that the team occupies. For example, the 1974 White Sox replace the 2005 Brewers. To get the White Sox to play in U.S. Cellular Park (or Comiskey Park), you must take the stadium files and rename them to millday.big and millnite.big (the file names used for Miller Park). This is necessary because the game is coded such that the team occupying the Milwaukee Brewers slot will use the stadiums with the names millday.big and millnite.big. It should be noted that renaming the files will give you the proper default stadium, however, the audio will say "Welcome to Miller Park" and the stadium select screen will still show the Miller Park stadium previews. If you want to be thorough, you'd need to modify the stadium audio file and also change the stadium select screens. It's not hard work, but it takes some patience (and trial and error) if you've never done it before.
