xiberger
Today I scored a run from second base on a sacrifice fly to deep center field. Even though the announcers said it was a sac fly, the game didn't count it as one. My batter got the RBI, but it also counted as an at-bat. Has anybody else ever scored like this from second (or even first) base? And what's the official rule on sacrifce flies? Would it count as a sac fly in real life? rookie_rick
The official rule is that it is still counted as a sac fly unless the running scores on an error. Taken from www.answers.com a fast runner may legally tag up and score from second base if the fly ball were hit to a particularly deep part of the field. By rule, this is still credited as a sacrifice fly and an RBI, unless the player only reaches home due to an error.
Yankee4Life
If this game didn't count this as an actual sacrifice fly then it is the programmers at EA's fault. It's rare when you score from second on a sacrifice fly, I've seen it before in the majors, but you should have been credited with a sacrifice fly. Carl Crawford managed to do so against (shocker) Johnny Damon a few years back at the Trop. EA should've been able to handle it, but who knows. I personally think it shouldn't count as a sac fly, since it was prob the fault of the outfielder.
