RaptorQuiz
i didnt belive it when i saw it ...whats everyones opinion good trade ??? reds got 3 good minor league prospects 3 good minor league prospects? We don't even know who they are yet. The deal was reported as Dunn for a "minor league pitcher and two players to be named later." Seriously - I understand your desire to rush to be the first to make a thread, but there's not even any solid reporting (as of this moment) as to who else was in the deal. So how do you know if it was a legit Dunn-for-solid-prospects deal, or a salary Dump by CIN?
maddux31
Buck is one of the players. He was slated as a first-round ACE type pitcher. He is howeve in single A after coming off of TJ surgery. He has huge...huge...upside, however, being realistic he still has to stay healthy, and we all know TJ surgery is very common these days and many a pitcher has come back even stronger after having it. I would love to have Buck in my system. IMO.
BigRog
Yeah, from what I am reading it is Buck and 2 PTBN. MLB Trade Rumors is reporting that his remaining contract for the year will be split between the two teams. Just seems to me like the Reds are looking for a cheaper future and Arizona will get some nice compensation for Dunn when he leaves.

ro290190
Could work out well for both teams but I'd much rather be on the D-backs side of things, I'm suprsied he wasnt blocked by other teams

el_jefe061
I look forward to seeing Ubaldo Jimenez strike him out looking on a fastball a couple of time tomorrow, when I see him debut against the Rockies. As for the actual trade, doesn't sound that bad to me. From everything I read, there was very little interest around the league for Dunn, and I doubt Cincy was going to re-sign him anyway. The compensation picks may have been decent, however. Dallas Buck has a ton of potential, but "1st round caliber players coming with a ton of upside coming off of TJ surgery" are a dime a dozen. I think their window to trade Dunn and get a good deal was last year, not this year.
