Trouble putting pitch view values in MVP08 Datafile

Ok I have edited the default 08 datafile. It now includes the default mvp 05 fielding. Im having a hard time however, putting in Pareds pitching view.

I have tried his behind the back and another one. All I do is copy the lines for the corresponding file in one datafile, and then paste it into the 08 file. I matched up and doubel checked that I put the correct battingview 6 files in. But the view stays the same once I start a game.

Could someone give me some insight. I would like to finish this and if kraw and pared had no problems, then possibly upload it for those who want the old fielding view, with a broadcast style pitching view, but while keeping all the great 08 datafile tweaks.

Any help would be great

yessir. I followed all the directions of several walk thrus I have read. The fielding cams changed smoothly and without a hitch, but the pitching cam is the same. I figured if I messed up then the game wouldnt even load, so I am at a loss for what to do at the moment.

Btw great sig and avatar. I just watched Batman Begins two nights ago and am seeing the Dark Knight this weekend.

Did you change all the lines? There are four battingview6 lines you have to change:

0xbed1924f 97<BattingView6RightLow>

0xcf7ab64e 97<BattingView6RightHi>

0xf83c7e3c 97<BattingView6LeftLow>

0x3611589b 97<BattingView6LeftHi>

yes sir. I copied those lines from the pared file to the 08 file. Maybe my Pared file is no good. IS there another datafile out there with the close behind pitcher broadcast view?

Thanks Ima give a try to this. Does anyone know if the 08 file has a conflicting line of text that overides the batting6 lines?

Well Im going to try putting your Bat6 lines in the edited 08 I have.

Also Jim, What fielding view does your file use?

It uses the default fielding views that came with the game. Here's info from the readme for my combo datafile mod:

This mod contains four combo datafiles in four folders:

- Default

- Walkup Music On

- Foul Ball Replays On

- Walkup Music and Foul Ball Replays On

1. Default datafile

----------------

The Default datafile contains the following modifications:

- Trues' batting camera #4

- Trues' change to remove batter walkup music

- Pared's Behind the Pitcher camera #6

- Spitoon's walk fix (which reduces the size of the "sweet spot" in the pitching meter)

- Trues' changes to remove foul ball replays

- Spitoon's changes to move the outfielders back

- abhall's HH low batting view camera #5

- Spitoon's changes to move the infielders in

- SeralMike's Walk and Strikeout Fix

2. Walkup Music On datafile

------------------------

The Walkup Music On datafile is the same as the Default version above except that it turns

on Batter Walkup Music

3. Foulball Replays On datafile

----------------------------

The Foulball Replay On datafile is the same as the Default version above except that it

turns on Foulball Replays

4. Walkup Music and Foulball Replays On datafile

---------------------------------------------

The Walkup Music and Foulball Replay On datafile is the same as the Default version above

except that it turns on Batter Walkup Music and Foul Ball Replays

Thanx for before jim. I have used the pitching 6 view inside your file and it works great. Thanx to pared of course too.

However for some reason, once I pitch to the 5 or 6 batter of the game, the camera ends up to the side of the batter and you cannot even see the pitcher or meter, which then forces me to use a differet camera.

Is it possible it is comflicting with some values inside the 08 file? I have tried taking the default 08 file anew and just putting Pared pitch6 in it. But even upon making a fresh it always messes up after 5 or 6 batters and never reverts.

any ideas anyone =(

Hi folks, after several trials with new MVP08 I think the angles and swinging shots of Cameras, as well as stadium views are really great, although I would prefer to keep the BattingViews, FieldingViews, Infield distribution and all play mechanics from the good old MVP07. So I would like to customize my own datafile.txt on this basis.

I guess the easiest way would be to edit such Cameras shots on old 07 datafile.txt, but I think somebody said this is very complicated and I would need a tutorial for that. Otherwise would be to choose a database.txt from one of the datafile makers that get more near to my above expectations for edit my changes, but which would be the more near??? any expert suggestion will be welcomed.

The best thing to do would be to read the datafile spread sheet to find out what values are to be edited for what you want. Then you would copy the 07 values and paste them over the 08 values you did not want to keep.

If you want I cen send you my datafile. It is the default 08 datafile, with Pareds pitching view 6, and with the default 05 fielding view. Everything else is MVP 08.

However I still need someone to address my last post as to why pareds view screws up after several batters. But I am still tinkering.
