MarlinsMS_35
In the Louisiana v.s. Maryland game on now, Maryland has to score 12 runs if the game goes 4 1/2 innings to move on, and overtake Louisiana. Now, Maryland is the home team, and the 4th inning has just ended. Maryland is currently winning 6-0. If you were Louisiana wouldn't you just walk in 4 runs intentionally to lose 10-0, and send Maryland home? this is a HUGE loophole in the 10-run rule. Does anyone else understand what I'm saying? I understand it's a bad sportsmanship thing and all that, but my main goal would be to move on, and this is way to by exploiting the 10 run rule! angryrat
So, Lousiana could move on if they do this?
MarlinsMS_35
The could have. Final score was MD 6, LA 2.
meteamo
It took me three times of reading your post before I understood what you are talking about. Yeah ... I agree with you and perhaps they should do something about this loophole. I guess they put this rule so the final score won't be 34-0 or anything like that. But, just like everything else in life, there's bound to be several loopholes involving rules created with good intent. For example, this instant reply thing that baseball may be considering. It's a good idea since the umps messed up several calls. But, what would the negative side effects of this be? I know the 10 run rule was put in for some good reason but that opens up some other loopholes ... like having to score more than 10 runs to advance ... which perhaps can be looked at instead. BTW ... Rules are Made to be Broken.
