Changing the ball color.

Hey guys, I would like to see if I could do this on my own. But I have no modding experience.

Basically, in 07 I liked the darker ball color, but in 08 it's a nice clean bright white. I would like to change it back to what it was in 07.

So I tried looking for a pic and maybe replacing, but didn't see a pics labled as ball.jpg. Could it be called something else or would this be a datafile.txt change? I'm assuming there has to be an image I could replace right?

I never used '07, but I think it might have come packaged with Trues' dirty ball update, which, like your description sounds like, makes the ball look more dirty, as if it's already been used for an inning or 2.

Try this one, "Trues Hi-Res Dirty Baseball". I switched the 08' one out with this one and its worked perfect.

Thanks again guys. So much better. So easy too and I made it so difficult by trying to create my own mod. I was installing/ researching programs that can open up fsh/ big files.

It is easy to install but what if you don't like it and want to reinstall the original? What file should one backup before installing this ball? Is there an easier way than copying the entire data folder?

Well I looked at that .bat file that you need to run and the the only change is to this file initstaz.big in the data folder. I think the initstay.big file is inside of the initstaz.big so no need to back that up.

you can download them and look at the textures used.

p.s. to look at the .bat file just right click and hit edit to see what it's doing. i don't know anything about programming, but you can kinda tell what it's doing. I also believe anything following a # is just a notation.
