silverwings1991
With all the pictures and videos of Citi Field out there, it would seem as if there is enough material to build one for our game. I am so looking forward to this baby coming out for MVP Baseball!!!!!
catzrthecoolest
Well it probably won't come out until the stadium is how it will be when they play in it, and there are enough pictures of it for modders to know details of the stadium; And even then, it takes time to 'mod' a stadium from scratch like this
MarkB
Not only is there already a Stadium Request thread, where Citi Field has already been requested multiple times, the park hasn't even finished construction yet, so making it accurately right now is just as impossible as it was this time last year. I'd love to know how the stadium can be made for a game when the actual stadium itself hasn't even been done yet. What do you base it on? Artists renderings? The videos on MLB.com? What ads do you use, considering none actually exist yet? What field layout do you use, considering there are no photos of inside the stadium yet? What frontend graphics do you use for the seat colours, benches, stand walls, etc.? I wouldn't get too excited about it, regardless of whether you're a Mets fan or not. Citi Field will be just as bad as Shea structurally and in its design - terrible.

RdSoxFan618
Why bother making this if none of us have actually seen the finished projects? I would be looking more for Nationals Park, at this moment in time, personally.
MarkB
Yankees Stadium III>Citi Field Sean conveyed my feelings on that perfectly. Yankee Stadium 3 is nothing more than a poor imitation of a once-great ballpark that was molested in the '70s. That said, this thread isn't about the merits of the 2 stadiums, so let's not have that conversation here. As RdSoxFan618 said, I imagine Nationals Park would take precedence over either of the 2 New York stadiums at this point, considering it's actually been played in for a whole year and actually exists. meteamo
There seems to be more new ballparks coming out this year than any other year in the recent past. Nationals Park ... where is that located? I'm thinking about going back to DC soon and I would love to check it out.
el_jefe061
Meningitis > AIDS When life gives you AIDS, make lemonaids. Although I know nothing about making stadiums, wouldn't it be possible to make something from scratch based off of some pictures, and just call it a "fantasy" stadium, essentially? Or a "rough" design. Something to hold people over until the real stadium.

Green Line (Navy Yard) And then it's about a 1 minute walk from the Subway station and you are at the gates. It's a brilliant ballpark...I enjoyed it thoroughly (the second time I went). meteamo
Cool. Thank you very much. When I went last, I stayed near McPherson Square on blue/orange line about few blocks from the White House. I'd take the blue to the green I guess. I was thinking about going to Arlington Cemetary next time but maybe I'll check out the Stadium as well. There's no way to see everything in a few days. BTW ... if you enjoyed it the second time you went, what happened during the first time? :)
RdSoxFan618
Oh, OK, the first time I went we were at Farragut North. Actually, we didn't go back to McPherson Sq., because we figured all the hobos were going to be lighting it up there around the time we got back. Anyway, 1st time I went, we were in the outfield bleachers. Section 140. We couldn't see where any ball was going to the left side of the infield. Was it fair or foul? Because of the amount of people that were there (Cubs game) in the lower section, concessions took at least 2 innings (Around 30-40 minutes) to get through the lines. And the price was just damn overpriced. Second time, sat in 303. No lines, perfect view, low ticket prices. I would even sit higher. It was just a much better experience. Either way, Nats got shut out in both games hahaha. (Faced Zambrano in the first game and Webb in the second). http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/news/wrap.jsp?...m=away&c_id=chc http://arizona.diamondbacks.mlb.com/news/w...m=away&c_id=ari Odalis Perez got thrown out in the 2nd game. Haha it was awesome. He balked twice in one inning and went nuts on the 2nd one. Got thrown out almost instantly.
meteamo
Thanks for all the info. ... because we figured all the hobos were going to be lighting it up there around the time we got back. :lmao: I know what you mean. I was walking on 14th to the KFC late at night. It was quite a walk. My gf wanted corn on the cob while she was busy with American Idol. Either way, Nats got shut out in both games hahaha. (Faced Zambrano in the first game and Webb in the second). LOL. I guess they don't do so well against the great pitchers*. * or even average pitchers
catzrthecoolest
lol, that reminds me of something funny... the washington post told ralph nader they wouldn't cover his campaign because he had no chance of winning... and he said to them "then why do you cover the nationals?" . silverwings1991
I guess we'll all be starting the 2009 season at Shea. I actually won't mind one more season at the old ball park. Many fond memories there. But of coarse most of us are looking forward to Citi Field; well exept for the Yankee Fans who are pissed that Yankee Stadium will be history soon. meteamo
what the hell was the point of this post? Yeah I know. My first reaction was "huh??" Any baseball fan will always have at least one fond memory in the stadium where they watch their team play whether it be Shea, Yankee Stadium or any other ballpark. I don't particularly care about Citi Field as much as the team itself. They could still be playing at Shea or in Coney Island ... as long as I can see the team and they can win ... it's all good. However, I wish Citi had more seating. And I guess he's saying that Yankee Fans would rather stay in the old ballpark instead of playing in the old one - one reason being for sentimental reasons. But that would be true for almost every ballpark, unless if the team is just awful or if the team's stadium is a really horrible design. I went to Yankee Stadium once and it was great but I didn't get the tour or see any of the monuments like I would have liked though. But, no matter what stadium your team plays in, it's always sad to see it go. But then again, if the team starts winning in the new Stadium .... Anways, back on topic .... Ralph Nadar is funny. And ... if I go to one of the first few games at Citi, I'll take as many pictures as I can in case if it may be helpful for someone here.

The purpose of the post is the hopes of having Citi Field for MVP before opening day 2009.
