B_ballplaya_05
I've played this game for a while now but I can't seem to hit many homeruns. Also when i get a hit, there way too many doubles and triples. My players pretty much lead the league in doubles and triples in my first season. now in my 2nd season I'm hoping to im prove in the hitting department. Some advice would be greatly appreciated, like any sliders that you guys used or datafiles that have been tested and actually show some results. I finished my first season with a decent record, made the wild card (lost the division lead on the last series but made the wild card). i got through it with some awesome games and won the world series against the yanks in 7 games. so the game play hasn't been a problem as you can see. However, i don't issue many walks and that's the only thing that's bugged me about the pitching. Thanks in advance!
RdSoxFan618
You have a gamepad? If so, home runs on fastballs on the upper/inner corner are homeruns if you can time it correctly. It's all in practice. Just push the stick to the top right (if it's a lefty up; top left if it's a right), try and swing so you are hitting the ball in front of the plate, and he'll pull it into the foul pole area. Maybe try making your slider for Power 30 just for now, until you start getting the hang of it.
B_ballplaya_05
Hmm i guess i'll give that a shot. I do have my power slider up there i think at 35 but I seem to hit a lot of fly balls though. the only guy that hit 30 plus was Berkman. Everyone else kinda sucked. I have plenty of power hitters on the team but Lance is the only one that's done the job. So i would pull it if i get a pitch inside then right? If it comes to the outside i can go opposite way or w/e right. I get the idea but so far it hasn't worked much for me. I guess i'll practice more. Any other advice you can give me. Also, about the pitching. I try to make it realistic by pitching the corners and that way if i miss then i'll walk the guy.
Gordo
You can also up the HR percentage of your team using MVPedit. I think the highest number is 15 or 16. Personally, I don't like the pre-loading of the bat method and a "timed" swing is much more gratifying. But in MVPedit you can bump up your particular team's HR rating numbers and see if that helps. But I know what you mean....I have the same problem. However, in order to reduce the doubles/triples and just overall realistic outcome that works for me, I reduced the entire roster set's contact numbers by 15 and adjusted sliders accordingly (in all-star).
