bwiggy33
I'm in my dynasty and so far I have found out that my game crashes when I try to play at Fenway and Yankee Stadium. I have both of the new versions of these two stadiums so I'm not sure why it's crashing. None of the other stadiums have crashed on me. Another thing is that my owner mode crashes when I get to the sim screen. That doesn't matter as much because I don't play that mode anyway. Can anyone help me with this? Also if it matters I have the MLB 08 update.
MarkB
There's a reason why this thread is titled "The Support Forum - Read This First". Read my most recent post in that thread and post back with the information requested within. Also, try copying the original Yankee Stadium and Fenway Park files from your CD into the stadium directory and see if it crashes with them. If it doesn't, it's probably just a case of your PC not being able to copy with the high resolution graphics being used.
bwiggy33
1. The problem is that I can't play any games at Fenway or Yankee Stadium because the game crashes. The game also crashes when I am at the simulation screen in owner mode. 2. I have updated my game to MVP 08 and everything has run smoothly besides the three items I mentioned above. 3. I have installed the MVP 08 mod 4. I am using the real game cd's 5. I've tried to overwrite and replace the Yankee and Fenway stadium .big with the ones that are available for download on the 2008 stadiums thread. I have an HP laptop Intel Core Duo 2, 1.83 GHZ, Windows Vista 32 bit I'm not sure how to check what kind of graphics card I have.
MarkB
Replacing them with the ones found in the 2008 stadiums thread isn't going to help much, as they will still contain a lot of high resolution graphics - that's why I suggested trying the ones from the CD - they're the stock EA ones and contain absolutely no high resolution textures at all and therefore won't be too taxing for the system and should work normally. Did playing in Yankee Stadium or Fenway Park work before you installed '08? Also asked in the other thread. Also, to check your graphics card model, you can either go to Device Manager - Start-Control Panel-System-Device Manager, or check your display settings - right click on your desktop, personalise, then display settings. It'll probably say in the drop-down box what type of graphics card you have, although gives that you're on a laptop, I wouldn't be surprised if it's integrated, and therefore, relatively bad. bwiggy33
Yankee stadium and Fenway both worked before I installed 08. It says that I have a Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset
MarkB
Yeah, integrated GPU, not the greatest. Try the ones from the CD and see if they work.
bwiggy33
Yeah I figured it wasn't the greatest. I put the ones from the disc in and it works. It sucks though cuz both stadiums look so bland. Not to mention the fact that the two stadiums people probabally put the most work into were Fenway and Yankee Stadium. Well I guess I'll have to make due with what I've got.
MarkB
In that case, you could try to open the .big files used and reduce the texture sizes, but this requires modding experiences and the acceptance that some quality will be lost, and also, certain objects may not map correctly unless you change the models. Other than that though, not too much you can do.
bwiggy33
Yeah I definitely don't have that. I hardly knew how to update 05 to 08! I did just search through the downloads and I found an 07 version of Yankee Stadium. I went into my game and it seems to work fine. Hopefully it will stay that way. I'm sure the textures were lower or something for the 07 version compared to the 08 version. If only I could find an older version of Fenway. MarkB
If I remember correctly, I think Big O released a lite version of Fenway for those who had crashing issues...try this. :)
bwiggy33
Sweet it works! Thank you very much for all of your help. I was actually looking for that lite version yesterday but all I could find was the newly updated version. Once again thanks for all of your help!
