I was driving to my polling place and saw about half a dozen senior citizens walking there in the rain. I expected long lines but I was in and out in about 5 minutes.

A lot of important props in California, I couldn't miss this. This is the only day I actually feel somewhat patriotic.

it's been 2 FREAKING YEARS. I know more about all 4 people involved than I know about most of my family members.

 im 18, i didnt even know who ANY of the candidates where until early last year. so yeah. how much does a 16-17 year old boy care about politics?

I voted. This is such an important election in so many ways..I live in Massachusetts and there are a few important topics being voted on as well. And for those who are wondering and who care...I went with McCain. Turnout in my area is off the wall

It is a shame on how black people are going to vote for obama just for the fact of him being black. Cnn is showing this black story right now.

Blacks have voted for Democrat candidates very strongly since FDR.

No wait for me this morning at 8, small town just south of St. Louis. Had a Casino bill to vote down...will remove loss limits for gambling (MO might be the only state that still has them) and freeze the number of casinos in the state. Increase casino tax and funnel that money to schools.

Sounds good, but the money casinos put to schools will likely replace funding, not add to it. They've screwed us the same way in the past.

The funding for the proposition came from casinos, no school/teacher groups are behind it. Repeal of the loss limit is great for them, limit on number of casinos is great for them. They don't mention the loss limit in the ads, and the casino freeze is presented to be a great thing for the voter.

I think they expect a 30% increase in revenue while a 1% tax increase goes to the state government.

I'd probably be for it if they didn't try to hide it behind the education facade - it will at least keep gamblers' losses in Missouri, instead of crossing the river to Illinois casinos.

I left for work before my polling place opened, so I'll stop by on the way home and vote. Let's hope I can get out of there without getting any ink on my hands from those markers.... :p

I'd say it's pretty damn important, and 16-17 year old males should be especially interested. What's happening now will affect the young the most, especially those overseas in Iraq and Afghanistan.

I didn't vote because I was too young, but I did vote in our mock election for AP Politics at school. I voted for Nader, although I would have voted for Obama if it counted...but that's why it's mock...for us to screw up the data. :D

Do I have to die? I'm foreign and would vote in the U.S elections if I could. Please? I don't want to die yet! :(

However, I can't choose a poll option as I don't vote in my own county's elections either - I'm not registered. As far as the British government knows, I don't have a home. No local authority taxation, no rent, no letters through the door telling me to apply for an ID Card when the legislation is brought in. My middle-fingered salute to Mr. Brown and his cronies.

Judging from that story, you'll love this film:

The radio station in our office building had a mock election, 20 floors, probably 800 people. 140 votes...pretty good turnout.

Sadly, Willie McGee got two. I think McCain beat Obama by four.

The wife and I just returned from voting. We moved from a state where we had electronic machines that replaced pretty simple "Complete the middle part of the arrow that points to the candidate you want to vote for" ballots, to a state that has machines that look like the control panel of a U-Boat.

Here's hoping my vote got cast. Wound up voting straight Dem. this time, and yes, yes, yes, and no on the propositions.
