2008: The day America died.

When the entire world is celebrating this event, you know it's big. Oh god, I'm crying right now.

They tried every dirty trick in the book and called him every thing they could, but they failed.

YES WE CAN.

Already posted, but since it's so appropriate;

Obama victory = FU**IN' WIN.

I'm going to bed...up for work in a few hours. No way I was missing this. They're celebrating in Kenya, man. Kenya.

Congratulations, Barack Obama.

Yes , yes I did vote at 7 am. And as I walked into the elementary school where I spent 3 out of my first 5 years , I found myself stuck in a long line of people waiting to vote. After 44 minutes though , I was able to get to the booth and place my vote for the next president of the United States.

Mission Accomplished. :D

Time to get the paint brushes out - let's pain the White House black!

Well, half-black.

So, when does Dubya get thrown out? Does he get a letter advising him of his eviction or what? :D

Im so happy right now but always wondered...

If Obama was fully African American by US standards...

(by my standards I feel that he is african american because his dad is african and his mom is american but in the US eyes he is a half and half lol)

But if he was "fully black", do you think he would of gotten the support he has. Lets say instead of his hybrid, black and white unity inspiring background, maybe he was raised by two successful middle class afromerican parents, would he have connected with the majority of Americans who voted for him?

He would have the same education, charm , charisma, record, and everything else. But that one thing would be changed.

Tell me what you think. I have always wondered if him being part white played a huge role.

I voted McCain. Unfortunately, he did not win. Mark my words: America will come to know the real Obama within the first year of his presidency, and they will regret the decision they made on this Nov. 4, 2008.

::thumbs down::

what would you want? More wars or a president that wants change in America?

What do you want? A president that isn't going to accomplish yet 25% of what he promises? What is he going to tell all the families of soldiers in Iraq? Oh your sons died for nothing, we aren't going to finish the job so whatever. Obama is going to downgrade this nation.

Silly, he is going to focus on the REAL problem. Afghanistan and the terrorists hiding in Pakistan. Noone died for nothing. We should of never been in Iraq. If anything we drew our enemies there.

Let me preface this by saying that anyone who has supported George W. Bush or voted for him has no room to talk about "accomplishments" or progress. Because he hasn't done anything, and it shows in the results.

What is he going to tell all the families of soldiers in Iraq? Oh your sons died for nothing, we aren't going to finish the job so whatever.

Tell that to Vietnam vets. See what they say. My uncle still has shrapnel from his thigh up into his (butt)cheek. War just ain't so cut and dry as "finishing the job".

None of this matters though, right now. We can argue all we want, but this is a landslide victory for Obama. Nothing we can say or do will affect what goes in the next four years. All we can do is hope for the best.

So you'd rather he tell the mother's of all the next soldiers to die that their sons died so we wouldn't be viewed as quitters? At what point does the death count stop?

Downgrading the nation? What? As if we didn't lose the respect of our allies already? As if there isn't an anti-intellectual movement going on in this country?

Of course, a lot of America's problems do not lie on the government itself. None of those issues popped up over night. Some are decades old. Our silent consent only embolden those who do directly cause them.

The soldiers are in Iraq because they want to get the job there done. More and more soldiers reenlist (more than other any war) after their service is fulfilled because they themselves too want to get the job done.

Do you have an actual stat on that you'd like to share with us? Because if you don't, I can just as easily start making up facts as well.

I'll take Obama over Bush anyday and I didn't even vote for Obama. I dunno what you are so worried about Wrigley. We will never vacate Iraq even when the oil dries up. It just adds another to our long list of military bases around the world.

:lmao:

KC this is so freak'n funny!!!

I just want to say this: When Obama had his election speech, he referranced McCain and people applauded. When McCain referred to Obama, people jeered and booed. I dont know, it kind of summed up the republican party IMO. Racist and warmongering.

Makes me wonder why people still fiercely defend that party...

2008: The day America died.

I'll resist name-calling, though this is one of those times that I wish I had the actor Kurtwood Smith on hand.

I can't, however, resist pointing out that 2008 is a year, not a day.
