I understand the victory but some make it sound Ghandi was elected president. Let the guy do his time and let us see him "walk the talk" before sculpting him on Mount Rushmore.

I voted yesterday, for McCain. I have to agree with piratesmvp04, I'm concerned we will regret what happened last night. I'm personally fearful of Obama's socialist and liberal agenda, and what it is going to do to us as a country economically and politically. I don't want more wars, but I certainly don't trust the "Little O" ("The Big O" is taken by Oprah, I'm not mocking Obama) to protect this country at all from terrorism or another financial crisis. His change is not a "good" type of change in my opinion, it could, in fact, be a disaster. Nonetheless, unlike the radical liberals who just HATE Bush, Barack Obama will be MY president come January 20, 2009. I am disappointed and fearful of what he will do, but I hope that everything turns out decently. If not, in four years, we can always get rid of the man (hopefully).

Sincerely,

--- vbprogjoe

Thanks for sharing your views. You're right, we sit and pout our lips because our candidate lost. We need to get out there and show people why conservative policies are the way to go. We need to work with Obama to come to a compromise that will make most Americans happy. To give up now would be acting like a loser. The world is not over. We must unite and work hard. Hard work is what brought this country to where it is today, and hard work will get us to a better place in the future.

Your very welcome amico. This election I hope, will do what it was intended, to unify our alliances again. To one day have the world back on ourside. So I can go down any street in any european town, and hear them say, america is a great country again. I want to feel proud about that. Anyone that hasnt been to a foriegn country wouldnt know anything about that. Its ashame too, because if they only knew how the world really felt, they would be ashamed. In the Czech Republic, my vacation spot, my Czech friends tell me all the time, why are we so arrogant towards everyone. Now, hopefully, when I visit again in march, I will get something new, like about time you make smart decisions in your country. Obama wants to work with other countries, not go and bomb them. I can still hear that song "bomb bomb bomb...bomb bomb Iran" that McCain sung and it was caught on camera.

Blades, I'm not attacking you personally or otherwise. You voted for Obama, I voted for McCain. At least we both voted. I'm sick and tired of people saying if you didn't vote for Obama you are racist! I voted for McCain because I don't trust the policies economically or in terms of security of "The Little O" (refer to a previous post as to why I call him that), and that is that. Your candidate won, I'm glad you're happy. The election is over, hopefully we can heal now. However, I take offense to your insinuations of racism because us conservatives voted for McCain. I also don't care about the international outlook of our country, especially to Europe. I don't think much of the Europeans and their governments, and I think THEY are arrogant and pompous. You obviously do care about your international friend's opinions about the U.S., and that is great. If that is what keeps you going at night, all the more power to you. As for me, if I cared about the European/international opinions of the United States of America, I'd move there (preferably to Scotland or Japan), but I frankly don't give a ripped goose about their arrogant outlook on us. I'm an American, and the U.S. is the only country I care about. That is how I roll. I'm proud we elected a minority for President, I'm just disappointed that it was the wrong candidate. I'm sorry if this offends you, but I don't trust Obama at all, to improve this country. His "change" is the wrong type of "change" in my opinion, but I do hope he succeeds enough to keep us afloat as a nation. I just don't think it is going to happen, and I am fearful of mass chaos and disaster with his socialist and liberal redistribution. Thus, chances are I'll be voting him out (hopefully) four years from now, but that is four years from now (2.5 if you take into account primaries and the ilk).

With that said, congratulations on your "messiah" winning, and I do wish him sincere good wishes. However, as conservatives, you have to understand that since we don't trust his policies and/or associations, we consequently are not going to swoon over him like the media or the rest of the nation. We are pragmatic, but we are also realistic. You roll however you want to, and us conservatives will roll how we want to.

Thanks,

--- vbprogjoe (Joe W.) :D

Yankee Stadium?

This is the early 1970's Yankee Stadium that Sean (an others) were working on. We released a beta version of it in the Total Classics Best of the 70's & 80's mod, however, there was still a little bit of work left to do before Sean considered the stadium complete.

You guys are getting a bit too excited. Obama isn't going to change our overall military presence around the world. There is still a ton of bledshed with America's name signed in blood. So he's gonna move a few troops to Afghanistan and spread the word. I'm still not proud of this country even after Bush is gone. There 's still a ton of change that needs to take place. I don't for a second see us as united. I'm not that vague.

What word is he going to spread, Socialism? Also, unfortunately, he will change our overall military presence. The way he was talking, he might just lay down for Kim Jong-Il or Ahmadinejad, either way we lose, because I don't want this country to be "played the fool" because our next President wants to be looked upon as a negotiator. If I wanted a negotiator, I'd have elected William Shatner or Scott Boras. I want someone to protect our country, and I don't care who the heck it is. I could be wrong, but Obama doesn't seem to me to be the one for that particular task. I pray I'm wrong, I REALLY DO!

Sincerely,

--- vbprogjoe (Joe W.)

Wait...did you just divide by zero? As a Scot, I'm pretty sure Scotland is somewhere in Europe. Unless I've been lied to for the last 23 years, Truman Show style, something is wrong with these quotes.

Also, Scotland is a shithole. Trust me. You don't want to move here.

As for the election, as others have done, I'd also like to thank every single person who voted in the election, regardless of who you voted for. I woke up this morning (after about 2 hours of sleep, still managed a full day at work and am not even tired right now :D )and I truly felt, and still do feel, that the world is a better place already knowing that Barack Obama is essentially in charge of the most powerful nation in the world. Sure, he's not in office yet, but it's a precursor to hope, promise and change.

So, quite simply, thank you all from Glasgow, Scotland. :)

arrogant and pompous? because Europeans have been critical of the US' policies? I understand that you care alot about your own country, but to say to hell with the rest is exactly why alot of non-Americans have a negative image of the US.

Holy ****, he's on to us. Cut to camera seven!

But seriously -- the way I consider the election is this...Republicans have been ******* up the country in ways I disagree with for the past eight years. Now it's the Democrats' turn to **** it up over at least the next four. You'll have a chance to get him out again in four years.

In the meantime, enjoy playing up being the minority. Fox News ratings are going to skyrocket.

Rush Limbaugh is about to have a heart attack.... here's hoping.

Rolie: The celebration is not because obama got elected, it's that the general populace united enough to put a black man in charge of our country. I cannot understand why people are playing this off. It is the single most important social/historical moment since the emancipation proclimation.

vbprogjoe,do you really think European governments are arrogant? Just to make an example, today every CONSERVATIVE leader in my country said he was happy with Obama's win. Do you know why? Because anything said against USA can put you on the blacklist and no-one wants to be against your country. Even when it was quite clear that Iraq was occupied without reason, nobody stood up and said "please stop" loudly. That's the way the world has gone for years, it's true, but the Bush administration took too many steps forward in that "we decide for everyone" style. Now ,and I totally agree with Blades, there's a chance for USA and the rest of the western world to start cooperate more for the sake of earth, not just personal interest. Right now it is just a chance, but a big big one. And both the USA and Europe should take advantage of it. We'll see how things progress, but this is definitely a step forward in international relationship, and if you don't care, you also don't care for your country.

P.S. : please don't try to say Obama is a socialist...if so,you don't know what socialism is.

I am going to repost an earlier page post of mine. I really want to know what others view on this. I did not get any responses and I am a very curious brown dude =P

Here:

"""Im so happy right now but always wondered...

If Obama was fully African American by US standards...

(by my standards I feel that he is african american because his dad is african and his mom is american but in the US eyes he is a half and half lol)

But if he was "fully black", do you think he would of gotten the support he has. Lets say instead of his hybrid, black and white unity inspiring background, maybe he was raised by two successful middle class afromerican parents, would he have connected with the majority of Americans who voted for him?

He would have the same education, charm , charisma, record, and everything else. But that one thing would be changed.

Tell me what you think. I have always wondered if him being part white played a huge role."""

There is no comparison to the Emancipation Proclamation. Minorities holding elected offices isn't anything new. Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice were also the first black male/female Secretary of States, both turned out to be pigs.

It makes no difference what they look like. Action is what should be of importance. Obama has a history of not doing anything and taking the safe route his whole career. Here's hoping he pulls that fence stake out of his crack, then I'll be celebrating.

For fun, without cheating can anyone name the first "black" NBA player, NHL player or NFL player? All three or you don't get the prize.

:lmao:

KC this is so freak'n funny!!!

I just want to say this: When Obama had his election speech, he referranced McCain and people applauded. When McCain referred to Obama, people jeered and booed. I dont know, it kind of summed up the republican party IMO. Racist and warmongering.

Orrrr...the Democrats were happy because they won and the Republicans were pissed because they lost...

Dumbasses kinda harsh, I'm sorry if I'm not judging a guy just because of his color. I like to judge people by their character. I think somebody famous said that.
