masternachos
I know how to import players from the original 05 into the 07 mod with MVPEdit, but how can I do it for managers? (i.e. bringing back Frank Robinson of the Nationals) And, while we're in the area, how can I reset all the player career stats back to before the 2005 season? Thanks! masternachos
Well, I figured it out, all by myself. Nobody helped me, whatsoever. Thanks! (I'm being sarcastic, by the way.) Anyway, I figured it out; all I had to do was edit the name of the manager in MVPEdit. That's pretty much all there was to it. However, I do have one other question: How could I take a portrait for somebody from 05 and use it to replace their 07 portrait?
Yankee4Life
Well, I figured it out, all by myself. Nobody helped me, whatsoever. Thanks! (I'm being sarcastic, by the way.) Good for you!! Here's a cookie for you. (Sarcastic right back at you.)
masternachos
Thanks. I was being sarcastic in a "pretend to be mad when I'm really not" kind of way. I just want to make it perfectly clear that I am not some jerk who holds grudges just because I don't get a response soon enough. This site is awesome, and I am truly envious of what you guys can do with a computer. Chocolate-chip cookies were invented by accident, by the way. Just a useless bit of trivia. xiberger
How could I take a portrait for somebody from 05 and use it to replace their 07 portrait? Extract the portrait (fsh) file from the 05 portrait.big and import it into the 07 game. You just need to make sure the respective ID (attachment "name" in the fsh file) matches in both versions. masternachos
I tried to do that in the same manner in which I would replace a cyberface (export fsh file, zip it up, install via TiT)- which I've done successfully- and it did not work. Is it a different process than the cyberface, or is there something wrong?
tebjr
The Portrait/Audio IDs would have to match. What player/manager is it?
masternachos
The one that I chose to start with was Livan Hernandez, whose Audio/Photo number is 378 according to MVPEdit. I extracted and installed 0378.fsh, so I think I have the right one.
tebjr
That should be correct. Not sure why it wouldn't show up.
masternachos
Hmm... I'll try again, I probably messed up. And with a different player, just to be completely sure.
masternachos
Okay, this is weird. I tried extracting and importing a cyberface from 05 (Nick Johnson, just so you know-I play the Nationals for some reason), which I had been able to do before (I re-installed the game and 07mod), but now that doesn't work either! What could be wrong?
masternachos
Oh, by the way, I have installed and re-installed MVP07 several times, and I've been noticing something wierd: the amount of stuff that shows up increases. For the first time, the game had all the new players, but none had pictures, and players from 05 still had their 05 pictures. Then, I reinstalled it, and all the players had 07 pictures, including the new players. Then, I reinstalled it again, about three days ago, and, for the first time, MVPEdit had the players' pictures and cyberfaces show up while looking through the rosters. So, I thought that was weird. masternachos
I KNOW WHAT'S WRONG! Okay, I had an idea of what might be wrong, so I re-opened the models.big file with Biggui (because now even my cyberfaces aren't transfering), and it has 900 cyberface files, so it is obviously not the correct files from 2005, but the 07 files- they were transferring, but I didn't notice because it was the same! So, where do I find those files again? (The cyberface and portrait files for the original game.) Thanks.
masternachos
Well, I got around it. I re-installed everything, copying the models.big and portraits.fsh files from the original MVP2005 before installing MVP07. I extracted a cyberface; it worked! I extracted a portrait; it also worked! Yep. Didn't quite remember how fuzzy some of those original portraits are compared to the high-def MVP07 ones, but what're you gonna do? I am pretty much done with everything, so I feel pretty good right now!
masternachos
Oh, except for the repeating stats for 2005 and 2006. Anybody think they can help me out with that?
SeveredSoulX
Why don't you just load the 05 and 06 roster files if you want to revert back in time...
