Pirate
What roster are you using? I would love to get my hands on your roster, your portraits.big and your models.big.
xiberger
I'm using a very old version (2.3) of Ultimate Rosters, dating from May 2005. Over the years I've tweaked many ratings, especially those for batting. I can set you up with either my rosters or the original ones, but I'm not going to distribute my models.big and portrait.big files. Sorry, Pirate. xiberger
That was one crazy All-Star Game. As I explained before, I let the CPU control both teams, only to take over when my Braves were involved in batting (Andruw Jones: 1-for-5, 2 K, RBI single) or pitching (Danny Kolb: 1.1 IP, H, K). Obviously my sliders aren't meant for computer-controlled games. :D

xiberger
Isn't it weird that my last three losses have come against Carlos Zambrano, Victor Santos and now Victor Zambrano? Coincidence? I don't think so.

JoeRudi26
Those 1st inning Grand Slams are a killer, x. Looks like Cameron was on fire.
xiberger
Yeah, he was. Hampton walked three guys before facing Cameron, but all at-bats were very close. After giving up the Grand Slam, he completely lost it. It was his first loss after four consecutive wins.
JoeRudi26
I was looking through your dynasty, and I just wanted to tell you that you have a great 'eye' for pics. Sorry if I've asked before (I didn't see it), but do you play all of your games manually?
xiberger
I was looking through your dynasty, and I just wanted to tell you that you have a great 'eye' for pics. Sorry if I've asked before (I didn't see it), but do you play all of your games manually? Thanks, JR. There are so many great pictures in the game, but sometimes you've got to look hard to find them. I really enjoy going through the replays from every possible angle, trying to find the right pic for the play. And yes, I play all the games myself. JoeRudi26
Thanks, JR. There are so many great pictures in the game, but sometimes you've got to look hard to find them. I really enjoy going through the replays from every possible angle, trying to find the right pic for the play. And yes, I play all the games myself. I was sure you did, it's hard to get decent pics from a limited amount of animation. It involves size, perspective, and angles. You've definitley got the eye. Here's an old one I dug up from a dynasty of mine from a couple of years ago that sort of reminds me of your "style", so to speak, especially the distance and angle of the "camera". Like I said, I love your format; consistent, clean, simple, and informative. Great job.

xiberger
This might have actually been the most horrible game I've ever had. The worst news is that Chipper suffered a severe concussion while trying to break up a double play at second base. I had to put him on the 60-day DL, which means he'll be out of the lineup for two months! I'll most likely move Pete Orr to third base and put Andruw in the clean-up spot. To fill the roster slot, I called up outfielder Brian Jordan from AAA. And Danny Kolb, who hadn't blown a single save in his 32 appearances, gave up three runs in the bottom of the ninth inning, thus blowing his first game of season. He was one strike away from notching his league-leading 28th save when he faced Fred McGriff, but on a 3-2 count he walked him to load the bases for Brian Schneider. San Francisco's catcher then came through with a walk-off single, his third hit of the day. He was also named "Player of the Game", a feat he had accomplished before against my Braves on April 13, when he was with the Nationals. All in all, a very frustrating loss. JoeRudi26
All in all, a very frustrating loss. Yeah, but what a game. No worse way to lose it than being one out away from a victory. Ouch.

JoeRudi26
Let me ask you, x, can you feel the Phillies breath on the back of your neck? It look like their keeping pace with you so far. Any word on what the Wild Card looks like in the NL?
xiberger
I'm not feeling the Phillies' breath on my neck because they're no longer in second place but have taken over first. My Braves are currently leading the Wild Card race by five games over the Cardinals and six games over the Cubs. If I don't start winning soon, that lead won't be for long.
