xiberger
I was really worried about Kolb, when he blew those two saves in Frisco. He looked very shaky and couldn't get an out to save his life. Now he seems to be alright again, which is good news for the entire team. Also, he's the first player in the majors to reach 30 saves this season. He's currently on pace to finish the year with 46 saves.

xiberger
How about Julio Franco gettin some homers Yeah, he's doing pretty well at the moment. I'm putting him in the lineup vs. left-handed pitchers, since Adam LaRoche can't really hit them. Also, Franco shows that you're never too old for this game when your heart is in it. xiberger
I forgot to mention that Rafael Furcal suffered a dislocated finger in the last game. He'll miss nine days of action. Wilson Betemit will move to the shortstop position during that time, which allows me to bring in Pete Orr at third base. Next up are two three-game sets at Cincinnati and St. Louis. xiberger
Well, now it's official: the Reds completely own me! Over these last three games, my team has only managed to gather four hits per game. Andruw's bat is as cold as ice right now, and the rest of my players can't hit either. To top things off, my backup shortstop Wilson Betemit became the next injury victim. He suffered a minor PCL sprain and will be out for nine days. I've already put him on the 15-day DL and called up prospect Tony F. Pena from AAA Richmond to take his place. Next up is a three-game series against the Cardinals at Busch Stadium. The Redbirds are currently second in the NL Central, nine games behind Houston and 6.5 games out of the Wild Card race, which is led by my Braves. xiberger
Costly loss there, as Marcus Giles suffered a hernia while trying to make a sliding catch. The injury will cause him to be out of the lineup for 30 days. With him gone, I'm running out of infielders. Furcal will return soon, but Betemit and Chipper are still on the DL. I've called up Andy Marte from AAA Richmond to fill in at third. Hopefully my players stay healthy from now on...

Pirate
Your results are phenomenal. This has been a fun dynasty to follow. Here's hoping you can catch the division leader!
xiberger
Thanks, Pirate! Winning the division is going to be a difficult job, though. With two of my key players (Chipper and Giles) on the DL, the main focus lies on defending my six-game lead in the Wild Card standings. The upcoming home series against the Giants will be crucial as San Francisco is currently second in the Wild Card race.

xiberger
I can't tell you how relieved I was when Danny Kolb notched his 31st save of the season against the Giants. He struggled mightily back in San Francisco but kept his cool in this game. Despite giving up a single to pinch hitter John Dowd to start the ninth, Kolb was solid when facing the next three batters. I'm still wondering, though, why Felipe Alou left pitcher Brad Hennessey in the game, instead of bringing up another pinch hitter? I guess he didn't want to win that badly. :D
xcrunner4623
How are Jim Thome and Bobby Abreu doing? I see the Phillies are leading the NL East. Good stuff.
