Hey Xiberger--Great job so far, esp. against Peavy (though he's one of my favorites)!

Can we get another update on MLB as a whole? What kind of year are John Lackey, Bartolo Colon, and Vlad Guerrero having? Or Steve Finley?

Can't wait to see how the wildcard plays out for you!

Wow it looks like a big rivary between you and the Padres for the wild card because I think you lead the wild card and they almost have the same record as you, btw nice dynasty so far.

Not really because the Padres are leading the NL West by six games over the Giants. Right now my biggest rivals for the Wild Card spot are the Marlins, who are 5 1/2 games back.

Lackey's somewhat struggling this year, holding a record of 8-11 with a 4.80 ERA. Colon doesn't fare much better with a record of 8-8 and a 3.82 ERA. Vladdy's doing pretty well, batting .300 with 19 home runs and 76 RBIs on the year. And 40-year-old Steve Finley is having one of his best seasons ever with a carrer-high .323 average (2nd in the AL), 16 home runs and a team-leading 77 RBIs.

Despite a modest 66-58 record, the Halos are leading the AL West by 5 1/2 games over the A's.

That was a weird game, as both starting pitchers had very short (and painful) outings. Carlos Zambrano didn't even last one inning, giving up five runs on as many hits. Just when I thought I had scored more than enough runs to back left-hander Horacio Ramirez, the Cubbies tied the game in the bottom of the first inning. I decided to lift Ramirez during the second frame for reliever Jorge Sosa, which turned out to be a good choice. Sosa pitched well, holding Chicago to just one run over more than four innings on the mound. The other relievers also made a great effort, and Danny Kolb sealed the deal in the ninth.

Danny Kolb rules! Two big saves against his former teammates secure my Braves a comfortable lead in the NL wild card race.

Weekly update will be posted tomorrow...

Andruw Jones has been the dominant force in my lineup so far, but right now he can't hit a ball to save his life. He struck out three times in as many at-bats against the Nationals. Over the last seven games, he only hit .094 and looked just terrible swinging the bat. I'm going to bench him for the next game and see if that helps.

First I thought I couldn't win against the Reds in Cincinnati, but now it turns out I can't beat them in Atlanta either! Horacio Ramirez was in control of their lineup until the seventh, when they hit three long balls of him.

At least Andruw's doing better again, collecting two hits in four trips to the plate. All I need from him right now is drive in some runs to boost my offense.
