I can't tell you how much I really enjoy your dynasty, its presentation and the whole nine yards! I actually come on MVPmods just to check out your latest every two days!..sometimes every day!

Thanks for the kind words, daml9! It's nice to see people are still following this dynasty, despite the recent hype about MLB 2K9. Long live the King, long live MVP! ;)

Weekly update is coming up next...

I just realized that I accidently listed Pete Orr as the second baseman in my last game recap. In fact, Orr played at third in that game as the regular second baseman Marcus Giles celebrated his return from the DL. Giles (like Orr) had a fantastic night, going 3-for-4 with a base on balls while also scoring a pair of runs.

Over the last three games, my pitchers have given up a total of 51 (!) hits against the Mets. I don't really know how, but I still managed to win two of these contests.

The upcoming series will be a much easier as my Braves will face the last-place Nationals in Washington. Tim Hudson, John Smoltz and Mike Hampton are scheduled for the three games at RFK Stadium.

I'm about to start a crucial four-game series against the Phillies in the City of Brotherly Love. With my Braves being five games behind the division-leading Phillies, I need to win this series if I want to stay in the title race. Winning three out of four games at Citizens Bank Park is going to be very difficult, though.

I also noticed that both teams still have a pretty good chance of finishing the same division with 100 wins or more. If indeed both succeded, it would be the first time since 2001 when the Mariners (116-46) and the Athletics (102-60) did so in the AL West.

That last win was huge. In a game that was dominated by the offense, my bullpen proved to be stronger than Philadelphia's. Shortstop Rafael Furcal truly had a night to remember. One down, three to go!

This is why I enjoy playing this game so much! One day, you win a game 11-8 in ten innings and both teams combine for 32 hits. The next day, you pitch a two-hitter and manage to squeeze out a 2-1 win on just six hits.

MVP, I love you!

After his latest victory, Tim Hudson is a virtual lock for this year's NL Cy Young award! His fourth complete-game win in a row earns him his 19th win in 2005, his ERA has dropped to a fantastic 2.17, and it seems he's getting stronger as the season winds down.

If John Smoltz can tame the Phillies in the next and final game at Citizens Bank Park, my Braves would complete back-to-back sweeps, reducing Philadelphia's lead in the division to just a single game. Go Braves!

In a game that saw ten long balls, John Smoltz didn't have his best start. He still got the win, thanks to the bat of rookie Jeff Francoeur who had a marvelous night with three home runs and five RBIs. Marcus Giles went deep twice, but suffered a knee ACL late in the game. The injury ends his season, which means that Pete Orr will now permanently fill in for him at second base.

The good news is that Chipper Jones will return after the next game, which will be the start of a three-game series in New York. We'll see if my Braves can keep their seven-game winning streak alive in the Big Apple...

Chipper's back, baby! My nine-game winning streak will go double-digit, if Horacio Ramirez and the rest of the crew finish off the Mets in the final game of the series. It would also be the third straight sweep for my Braves.
