Mykal94
Many people are ripping into Allen Iverson saying that he should have gone to practice on Thanksgiving, but I disagree. Family comes first no matter the situation. If he had missed practice on any non-holiday, I could see a problem. As long as he was actually with his family giving thanks, I say good for him. He has the courage to stand up and for himself and his family. Not saying all the others who went to practice don't love their families which I'm sure they do, Allen Iverson hasn't lost sight of his priorities in THIS situation. Always remember family first. ro290190
How long does practice take, maybe 4-5 hours max out of his day, still plenty of time to spend with his family and give thanks

ronmexico
Something like this would sum it up best: If I can't practice, I can't practice. It is as simple as that. It ain't about that at all. It's easy to sum it up if you're just talking about practice. We're sitting here, and I'm supposed to be the franchise player, and we're talking about practice. I mean listen, we're sitting here talking about practice, not a game, not a game, not a game, but we're talking about practice. Not the game that I go out there and die for and play every game last it's my last but we're talking about practice man. How silly is that? I don't think he should've missed practice at all, even if it were a holiday. It's not like they practice the whole day; he'll still be able to spend time with his family afterward.. hiheat32
a couple years ago when i played high school football, we had practice on thanksgiving day because we made the playoffs. i guarantee that all the other texas schools that were still in the playoffs practiced on tgiving also. also, a&m and texas had a game on thanksgiving and i bet almost every other ncaa team practiced. if high school and college teams practice on thanksgiving, you would think someone getting paid to play would show up to practice on thanksgiving... redsox
My friend had to work a double at the movie theater yesterday. If he can do that Iverson can go to practice. Does Iverson lose all of his basketball knowledge the moment he misses one practice? It's practice for goodness sake. If he skips practice for the hell of missing practice then maybe, I might view this differently.
SpaceFlare
I actually counted.. it turns out Iverson said "practice" 22 and a half times (half when he said "prac-"), not counting the word "practicin'" at the end of the video.

SeveredSoulX
It's one freaking practice - I don't think a guy with the skills of Iverson will be effected by missing 1 practice - and since he's the star of the team, he'll be the ball hog and get 40 points per game!
