Radagast33
I recently picked up a new computer with Vista - old one ran off of XP. Of course I wanted to bring MVP05 over to the new computer, so I installed it and applied patch 5. Gave it a trial run with nothing else, and all was well. Slowly began tranferring files (models, portaits, audio, etc.) over and re-testing at various intervals, and all was well. The problem I've encountered is when trying to move the roster files used on the old XP machine over to the new Vista machine. I can view the rosters fine in Roster Management, but when I try to test (even in HR Derby mode) it crashes to the desktop. Re-applying the original rosters from the re-install w/patch 5 and again, all is well. I'm hoping someone can give me some direction here as to how to get this to work? I have gotten MVPEdit to work (thanks MarkB and your FAQ!) but can't figure this one out. I appreciate everyone's help!
MetsReyes777
Hm, sounds weird. What I would do is possibly find somebody that plays MVP on Vista and ask them. Possibly even ask them to send the files that you need to you? Just a thought.. Good luck, sorry I couldn't help out more.
cococrispy
Strange, I have three Vista computers that all work fine with this game.
MetsReyes777
Right. My friend has Vista on his HP laptop and it works just fine. I'm sure in time it will work itself out.
Radagast33
I hope so, and thats what makes it so strange - usually the rosters are the most "stable" file out of all of the possible issues. Instead they're what is making it crash, while everything else seems fine with an old roster file... I'll keep trying; if it ends up working I'll post what I did in case someone in the future has the same problem.
Maestro23
Are you using KG's 6.3? That roster has been crashing on alot of people.
