Striking Out Batters

On All Star i could strike guys out pretty well but moving up to MVP i just can't get it done. I average 0-3 strike outs per game. Almost every ball goes into play although i play defense well enough to hold them from scoring runs. The scores and hits turn out realistically but i just can't get those K's!

Is there anything i can change to not affect the hits but make the hitter hitting zone smaller or something? Even when i pitch outside the strike zone, they swing, and usually hit, about 70% of the time!

Have to try to pitch outside of the strike zone more often? That always works for me. The better I can work the edge of the strike zone, and the better I can pitch outside of the strike zone, the more K's that I get. If I have a 0-2 or 1-2 count I always throw out side the strike zone. I usually average 7 to 9 K's per game that way.

I noticed there was a CPU Swing Frequency slider, going to try adjusting that and see if it changes anything.

That works for me when I throw at the Red Sox on a regular basis.

Lol Does hitting batters actually keep them on there toes in this game or is smacking the batter just for fun?

I think it's just for fun.

You probably already know this, but take advantage if the batter starts moving around in the box.

I do suggest adjusting the CPU Swing Frequency and Foul Ball Frequency sliders.

I was having the same problem, more or less. The CPU batters jump on every pitch and are able to put every ball in play. My starters were averaging 4-7 pitches per inning, which was just ridiculous. With the swing freq. down and the foul balls up, even when they reach and make contact with a pitch out of the zone they mostly (realistically) just foul them off.

when u get 2 strikes throw an off speed pitch down a little below the strike zone that usually works
